Please keep updated with alleged "major" versions of firefox.

For more portability please consider cross-releasing to userscripts.org for use with either greasemonkey or scriptish in firefox. ;)

I can not recomend this add-on, it's complicate to use and does not always work.

There is a better add-on to change the UserAgen ID called "User Agent Switcher": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/

ADD-ON needs work. Good concept. Most critiques of this add-on are unfair, or posted by those w/ NO HISTORY in these addons-reviews. There is a way to fix the wikileaks etc issues (ff defaults should be 'reloadable' no matter what--esp. on an uninstall....Below this (maninred) has solutions for most criticisms I'm reading. Proxy-passthrus and 'supercookies' are main defect(noted problem); i've no solutions...

This useful extension makes popular sites like wikipedia inaccessible. Uninstallation does not repair this excellent side-effect. After installation, one must learn to use a different browser.

Yes, it works. Thank you for your efforts.
But I have a few questions.
1. How to do, that at some sites did not affect work of BrowserMasquerade?
2. Are you going to follow the advice and develop predefined profiles. IMHO, need at least mentioned "paranoid" and "disabled" profiles.
P. S.
Sorry for my English, I'm not a native english speaker too.

Frustrated Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I don't want anonymity. I just want to automatically force my user-agent header to be IE for a site where the programmers were stupid, and stay out of my way when I'm not on this site. This worked in the previous release that I installed, but now it does not.

Good addition to anonymity tools, but I agree with the previous reviewer that the option to use a standard, default profile is required. Because the average user is never going to spend the necessary time and effort to get this working satisfactorily. What is needed is a simple choice between predefined profiles such as "paranoid", "standard"; "disabled", etc. which already contain lists of information and require just one click to be enabled and/or updated, similar to so many other already existing security tools. Without that, this addon can never grow to become as widely used as for example Ghostery and the other addons you recommend.

standard configuration Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It would be niche if you could implement a standard configuration in BrowserMasquerade.
I can´t access soome websites like wikipedia without a valid http-header.
It is awful to spend additional time to get your browser running in normal state after a installation of a new plugin.
It would be more nicer if a deinstallation of your plugin would restore the standard http-header of firefox, so that there is a fast solution to them who don´t want so spend the time for configuration to get their browser running normal.

This little app. is invaluable! Finally, I don't have to worry about my browser & o.s. info. being spread all over the Internet! Used along with some other security add-ons, surfing can be private again! Thanks very much for developing this & keep up the good work!
