My favorite RSS reader. Really, I don't need any other, it is easy to use and reliably working as supposed to be.
I tried many and many RSS readers... Some with bad functionalities, some with poor ones...
As soon as i got Brief, i've known it was THE RSS READER i needed.
Clear GUI, very functional, easy to use....
Perfect on a word ;)
This is the best feed reader for Firefox, in my opinion. It works simply, just as advertised. Oh, and to Fur Q: You can have Maxthon. No way I'd use a browser that uses Internet Explorer's rendering engine.
Never was RSS-Reading so intuitive than with Brief. Since I am a big Fan of Atoms and RSS, I have very plenty of them. Brief lets never loose the overview again.
This is a very clean and visually attractive Feed reader.
The only thing that bugged me is the way I end up with "Brief" all through my recent tabs list, and due to the amount of times i open brief in a day, it makes my recent tabs list useless. :(
So for now Im using Feed Sidebar
This add-on is wonderful!! Thanks!
This replaces my Thunderbird RSS reader. I like the way it keeps the sidebar in the tabbed window so it doesn't clutter the rest of the windows.
I figured out how to import my Thunderbird feeds, but I haven't figured out how to add a new feed yet. I also haven't figured out how to group similar feeds into folders. I'm sure I get those things figured out, but it would be nice to have a short instruction file.
This is a useful and well designed addon that is very user friendly and even with the lack of "documentation" is easy enough to use that anyone should be able to figure it out. Its a high quality work produced to address a basic need and does it admirably. I would however suggest that documentation be made for the noobs and also adding the front-end utility to surrogate the hardcoding of the styles for the non-technical users and the ability to store and execute credentials for sites that require user access to activate links within the posts. Although these recommendations would be nice to have, the addon is excellent and very efficiently functional as is. Keep up the good work.
For anyone with a older machine (slow) and uses tons of tabs, Brief is certainly welcome addition. Anything that opens as sidebar for me tends to be a sluggish but Brief is light fast always.
As for no documentation. It seems that this addon is as "simple" as it gets. Add feeds to the "Live Bookmars" folder, or wherever you store your feeds at in the bookmars. Go to the options in Brief window, Feeds tab, then select the feeds folder.
Have to agree with the previous reviewer about the lack of documentation. I have no clue on how to use this addon. My Live bookmarks doesn't show in Brief. The addon looks good in the screenshots, but I have no idea how to get my RSS feeds show that way. I guess I am just missing something basic here, but until I get some kind of tutorial I am unable to use it.
A very simple and well done RSS reader. No bloat; exactly what I need.
This is very good. Thanks to developers.
The only change I would suggest is to let the button at the top near address behave like the "home" button - mid-click = new tab; left-click = open in present tab.
Also, since the status bar button (bottom) already behaves like that, an option to not have the top button should be provided.
everything works great in Firefox 3.1b3 expect when you update the feeds the icon disappear and it does not show a throbber, it is just blank while the feed updates. Also making a sidebar, and/or a scrolling words of updates in the statusbar would be nice
wahnsinnig gute vorlage sehr hilfreich und aktuell.
In my opinion the best feed reader for Firefox.
Después de probar otros complementos para gestionar RSS, en Firefox, los fui descartando por diversas razones hasta que probé este. Recomendado 100%
Excelent add-on! i was using sage-too but this have replaced it.
However i have a problem with it, it doesn't seem to work properly with the read it later extension that i'm also using, i use right button-read this link later in brief but it doesn't add it to the list. It would be great if you fix it in the next release.
Wonderful!! But there is a question. It seems easily to cause firefox hang without response. I guess the problem may to the unstable proxy that I am using.
This add-on is simple and efficient. My only complaint is that keyboard shortcuts aren't optional or customizable, since they overlap some of my pre-existing keyboard shortcuts. But overall wonderfully done! b^^d
Simple, efficient & effective. The best RSS reader out there, & the best part is that it integrates seamlessly with the browser.
It has an amazingly simple user interface-beautiful & efficient- providing all the relevant info at a glance. U can view all the feed headers & a brief synopsis with pictures in the window & if u click on the feed headers u can view the post directly in the same window without having to open a new tab or browser window.
U can also directly bookmark the feeds which is very helpful.
All in all a must have add-on for all firefox users.
Please improve compatibility of Brief, because so many feeds can not parsed by Brief while Newfox or IE7 can do that.
We can not ask so many administrators of websites to change their feeds to be well-valid, so please change Brief itself.
For example , this feed:
Awesome tool. This is the addon, I was looking for since ages !!
For those reading these reviews but not yet using this add-on: Just get it, already! Tweak it, and USE it! Then, laugh like the rest of us at the naysayers...
Unless your last name is Kowalczyk, STOP READING NOW: Please don't de-integrate the sidebar...
