For people who want a bookmarks scrollbar in Firefox 4, it can be added via userChrome.css. See the posts from cor-el in this discussion:

I loved it - and now with Firefox 4 i have to work with my bookmarks like in the old dark times.
Please, make a update for Ff 4 !!!!!

Please update this to work on Firefox 3.6 Beta 5

And also please add option to only have the vertical scroll bar showing!!!

Please remove horizontal scroll bar. I do not need that (just vertical bar).
second, scrollbar appears everywhere, which I do not request ( at Tab bar, Tools bar - just bookmark menu).

A superb add-on. If you want this then you probably want it real bad! (Why oh why isn't this functionality a default part of Firefox!?) Two requests: please make it an option to choose either bookmarks scrollbar or tabs scrollbar (at the moment you have to enable both) and please please PLEASE update this for 3.5.

I had great hopes for this, since my bookmark list is endless, but unfortunately that scrollbar freezes every time i push it to go up or down..
It's a pity, because such an addon is a great asset to all FF users..

I'm glad you updated it, thank you. Even though the scrollbar covers the tabs (the bottom half), I still rate it 4 stars. I really missed my scrollbar, and I know you are probably working on this as I type.

buggy does not work if session manager is installed and unfortunately does not offer option to disable scrollbar on the bookmarks toolbar. Only want it on the bookmarks menu bot ob the toolbar where the scrollbar does not work well and covers names of the bookmarks there. Fix these and its an easy 5 star app

It is incompatible with the NumExt extension. There is a scrollbar upper over the tabs' row. And this scrollbar hides the tabs row completely under himself.

As MWG said, one can install it in later versions, and it does work in my 3.0.10 Gran Paradiso.

I'm very grateful for the add-on, and I can't believe this wasn't a part of the program to begin with.

Thanks jAgx!

Use With FF 3.0.9 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Install this extension using MR Tech Toolkit to override compatibility checking. It works fine in my Firefox 3.0.9 and adds a nice function to a lengthy list of bookmarks.

to those that still want to use this as i do.if you install
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543

then you will be able to force the install of bookmark scroll bar.BUT i have noticed a few things after doing it.
1] when you move the mouse down the bookmark list the folder or mark you are at does not turn blue.
2] also have noticed a slight issue with speeddial where the blue does not show up and also the favacons do not always show up.

But to me it is worth it as this is a great addon.

Hey author please update this. 3.06 is not supported. This is a great addon.

I also have a large screen notebook and have sorely missed this add-on. It really is a P.I.T.A. not being able to scroll thru the list of bookmarks I've accumulated.
To the developers of this add-on or Fox's developers, please, Please, PLEASE add the bookmark scrollbar to the newer versions of FF.
Would've given 5 stars but it doesn't work in FF 3.06

A neccessity that Firefox scrapped Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I regret the day I upgraded to v3.06 as the new bookmarks pane IS a pain. It is way too short (I would really like to know why Firefox porgrammers thought that such a silly little window was far better than a fully scrollable one). I use a 19" screen so this type of add-on is NOT just a useful toy for those with a small laptop and no mouse - I am disabled and use a switch control so the new, 'super' cramped bookmarks pane is too difficult to use. Please update this utility before I stop using Firefox altogether.

Addition to the squad, but does not support the modernization of what I want to add in my browser

A really ideal Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice addon for notebooks with having no mouse but just a touchpad or touchscreen.
Unfortunately this addon works only with FF V3.01 but no higher versions (actual is FF V 3.0.5).
I'd tested it with FF 3.0.5 - without having problems ;-)
Perhaps the author will update the version-infos in this usefull addon?
Thanks for doing so...

very, very simple tool that ads a scrollbar to your favourites drop down. Should have been implemented as standard in FF3 really.
