Bug if used with Compact Menu 2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If used in combinarion with Compact Menu 2 (version 4.3.1), the key combination CTRL+D (bookmark current page) is broken.

Instead of the dialog to bookmark the page, the menu bar dissapears. It will stay like that until firefox is restarted.

This only happens when used with Compact Menu 2. If I disable this other addon, then the problem goes away.

Everytime I enable this addon, put it somewhere in my UI and set it up it will randomly freeze my Firefox. Sometimes several times in a row or directly after I started the Firefox. This happened on 2 different machines now.

Hello,
I did manage to reproduce (most likely) the problem you are describing - some time ago - by adding another (or two) add-on, can't remember name, but it had to do with feed reading. What happened is the following:

That other add-on would import all of my feeds from Google reader to Firefox, but among those feeds there were many invalid (or not working) feeds.
So my add-on does that: observes for bookmarks changes (in order to have up-to-date items) and Firefox keeps checking those invalid urls and all that concludes to CPU load.
So my advice is: check your bookmarks for invalid - or not working urls. And live bookmarks.
And remove them.
Thanks

Now I can run FF6. I've been waiting for something like this since the old bookmarks button for 3.6 doesn't work with the newer FF. This is perfect! (But I could make a suggestion, the "options" link at the bottom should have an on/off option in the settings menu. How often would someone want to change the settings once they have it set up the way they want?)

I wanted to hide the Bookmarks Toolbar while keeping those bookmarks close at hand.
This extension gives me exactly that. Thanks!

I love this add-on, it's simple and does exactly what I need it to. I use it so I can have a button in my toolbar with my most commonly used bookmarks without all the clutter of the built-in FireFox bookmarks button. It would be nice to be able to customize the button icon, but other than that it's perfect for my uses.

Hello I will see to it today. Thanks for your report

One of the major problems with the default firefox bookmarks menu is that it has a bunch of excess space filled with things I don't need.
This addon fixes that but it is lacking something very important.
It doesn't have the ability to move, edit, remove, and add bookmarks. That's kind of irritating.

Hello, sorry for replying after so long
the functionality of the add-on is that retrieves the bookmarks toolbar and this is done real time.
So if you add a bookmark (in Bookmarks toolbar) you'll see the addition also in the add-on
And also if you organise your Bookmarks toolbar you'll see the changes in the add-on immediately
(also edit can be done with right click in one bookmark -> properties)

Causes Firefox to crash! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I like the idea of this add-on, but unfortunately it causes my Firefox 4.0.1 under Windows 7 to crash each and every time it is enabled. When this add-on is disabled or removed, Firefox is stable again with no anomalies.

I've been using this addon for years, and I really miss one feature: change the button's icon! Can you include this feature in the next release? Thanks!

Nice addon, but we need a option to always open tabs in a new tab instead of opening in the current tab. I am used to opening whole bookmark folders and it would be nice to not overwrite the current one im using.

If you change a bookmark (edit it) from the FF4 Bookmarks menu, the change does not reflect in the add-on "Bookmarks menu". It reflects after restarting FF4.

Hi, I just tested it (changing URL and title) and worked for me (in a windows pc)
Are you sure it is the same bookmark and not perhaps a duplicated one?
