Very useful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

And it would be one of the most useful extensions for Firefox if it distinguishes bookmarks by folders.

a mall bug Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It can't highlight image border in some pages, etc:

Unfortunately it doesn't detect relative links Rated 3 out of 5 stars

which makes its usefulness rather limited (for my use scenarios at least). Other than that it seems to work fine.

Thank you for addon! Could you add color choosing based on bookmark folder?
For example, I have folders `readed_articles' and `articles_toread'. It would be very convenient to see an unread articles.

Very useful, works well, thank you!

It would be even better with the option to choose different colour highlights for different bookmark folders and/or tags.

Just found a bug:
I have a page with links on that are bookmarked, they are highlighted correctly.
If I then bookmark the page that contains the links, the links on the page are no longer highlighted when I reload.

Reproduction steps:
1) Bookmark some links on a page, they will highlight
2) Bookmark the page that contains the links
3) Refresh the page
4) Links are no longer highlighted

Nice addon, very useful.
I have some problems with the module though :
- Links that are created late in the page loading (using Greasemonkey for instance) are ignored by the addon.
- Sometimes the hightlighting stops in the middle (some links are not highlighted when they should be).

I managed to solve these two issues locally, here are the modifications/corrections, for the maker and those interested :
- To include "late" links :
in main.js : contentScriptWhen: 'ready', => contentScriptWhen: 'end',
- To avoid the highlighting problem :
in highlighter.js : if (child.tagName == "IMG") { => if (child && child.tagName == "IMG") {
(it would also be a good idea to surround all that is inside the loop with a try/catch.)

That's all folks, hope that helps !

Fonctionne parfaitement Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a good little Addon, he does what is asked.
But it still lacks some options, already that CSS parameters are used to color and contour line, it would be nice to have other basic settings (CSS Border-radius as the example, it would be useful for me ^ ^ ")
Good in any case, nothing wrong because I do not have any trouble with this plugin ;)

RU => En: Nice addition, minus the score for:
1) Do not highlighted dynamically added links
2) lack the color settings by tags.

Nice, and does what it says, but it did seem to slow down Firefox at times and it seemed rather big (in file size) for what it does, so I uninstalled it ...

Works as advertised, but not on all websites.

Handy extension Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've been using in this in the context of knowing which online contests I've visited. It's been quite helpful.

Is it possible to be able to have different highlight colors depending on the bookmark folder the bookmark is in?

Works great but not on all sites Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The plugin works great and it saves me a lot of time when doing research but unfortunately, it does not work on all sites.

For example this one

Does anyone have an idea why it wouldn't work on the above mentioned website?

General answer: Bookmark Highlighter is designed to work with the most common web site design--simple text or image links. Web developers are continually coming up with new and creative ways to link things that don't follow this simplistic model. In the interest of keeping the addon as simple as possible, I have decided to go for the straightforward solution that works most of the time, rather than chasing down every variation anyone finds on the web.

Specific answer: I only spent a few minutes debugging, but it looks like has several link elements for each single link. I'm not sure why, but this is somehow confusing Bookmark Highlighter's link detection code. Only the first link gets marked for highlight.

I've tried setting "highlighted link background" to both #006666 and 006666 but don't notice anything different with bookmarked links. What gives?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.1-signed.1-signed).

Hi Deof. When I set the color to #006666, bookmarked links have a dark greenish background instead of the default bluish color. Did you try reloading the page after changing the color setting? Are you using version 1.7?

Text-Translate by Google:The addon for Firefox itself is not bad. However, I have found a mistake. If the addon is enabled, it covers mostly the logo of the site dias is also a link to the homepage. So you know what I mean, I made a picture for comparison and marked points with arrows. Would be nice if that could be improved. Here is the link to the error file.

This appears to be caused by a link with an image as the background. Since Bookmark Highlighter works by changing the background to a solid color, the image is replaced. This seems like an unusual choice and, I would guess, a rare occurrence. Do you have any other examples?

I still can't see the different when look at the link bookmarked. Need changing and combine with link visited/unvisited color to make it more useful 5/5.

Thanks for trying Bookmark Highlighter. I added support for customizing the color in a variety of ways in the most recent version. Please take a look and let me know if that helps!

Awesome add-on. Does just one thing and does it well. More customizability options wouldn't hurt, though.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

Thanks! I'm going to look into the feasibility of adding customizable link colors.

Edit: I have just released a new version (1.7) that allows custom CSS style for bookmarked items.

Works as advertised, but needs custom color options Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have nothing bad to say about this add-on. It works, period.

Options I'd like to see added:

(1) Ability to choose custom color for highlights
(2) Ability to save per-site preferences for highlight colors

I use the "NoSquint" add-on ( ), and that means different per-site color settings for background, text, links, etc.

Persistent per-site custom color options for highlights would allow me to choose the highlight color most easily viewable against the other color settings I have saved for each site.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

I agree, customizable colors would be a very useful option. It was actually on my todo list when I first made the addon, but I was somewhat limited by the tools I used. I'll have to revisit this to see if there are more options available now.

Edit: I have just released a new version (1.7) that allows custom CSS style for bookmarked items.

Awsome idea! This should be integrated into CSS with a ":bookmark" pseudo-class ;)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).

Funny you mention that. This addon was a direct reaction to the sad fact that there is no such CSS pseudo class. It seems like a pretty natural idea.

Edit: I have just released a new version (1.7) that adds CSS classes to bookmark items.

Удобно и информативно. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Немного бы поуже и картинки с логотипами сайтов выделять только рамкой. К примеру так: на Imageshack
