Annoying to use Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Seems to work well but not having a context menu so you can immediately add the site to be blocked seems really lazy. It's gets very tedious everytime some popup site appears then you have to copy the address, open Tools/Addons, open the Blocksite options, and manually add the website every time you want to block something.

Please give us a context menu option and/or a toolbar icon to add or remove websites.

kid stopper Rated 5 out of 5 stars

you should enable a message to be displayed making it seem like mozilla could not find the address. "sorry, mozilla could not find the specified address, please check to make sure you spelled it right, or click here to try again(refresh the error page)" keep kids in the dark about why the website isn't working. thanks a bunch

Thanks god for this addon, no more facebook adds, links, anything and other crappy sites as well. Working great with my FF 3.6.6.

Severely flawed - half the times I add new entries and change the password, upon exiting I can no longer access any website, requiring me again to reset the password. However, the entries I've added also disappear, as well as some previous entries. I'm running Firefox 3.6.6.

There is a big problem wit this add on. if you type the website into a search engine and go to the website that way you can still get to it.

The concept is really good, but the people I'm trying to block the site from, they know how to disable the add-on :-(. So, there's a bug that might not be fixable, but I love the concept!

Augh, I'm so mad at myself. I should be the guy that makes the final contribution, but damn me, I have no money. I'm just a kid. I'm sorry, dude; your application is great. I'll be using it to keep myself away from Facebook/Youtube/Reddit and keeping myself focused on learning programming languages and learning about GNU/FSF.

Used it to block certain content from a website while still viewing the page. Also used it to block pages altogether

Works fine

I use it to prevent my self from procrastinating. I whitelist only the sites that I know have a low procrastination ratio. Such as wikipaedia, brittanica, guttenberd and some torrent sites.

One major fault.. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It work great but too easily disable and uninstall.. i consider it as a major setback if it mean for a parental control tool

password protected disable and uninstall work be a great option for the future
i see a huge review asking for password protected disable and uninstall key but i don't see the developer taking any initiative to implement it, while asking for a huge amount of donation to continue his project

correct me if i am wrong but this is just my two sense

A suggestion Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi

Just want to say a big THANK YOU! to the developer for this add-on. Thought I was going to die when FF 3.5/3.6 was released and there was no new releases for the new FF, until I learned how to "modify" the add-on to work for FF3.5/3.6 but it's good that the author had released this maintenance version and I can go back to the official version.

A suggestion, instead of showing a blank screen for sites that are blocked, how about giving users an option on whether to show a blank page or a "warning" html page, similarly to how leechblock does it?

There are times when I forgot I had my blocksite on and was trying to load some sites without success and was wondering whether my ISP or my router is giving me problems when it's the blocksite blocking the site :)

Problem would be solved if we have a warning page instead of a blank page since I would immediately realize that I had my blocksite on.....

Again, many thanks!!

Problems with FF 3.6.3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on, but since FF upgraded to 3.6.3 it's caused problems with FF not closing correctly - leaving a process running which hogs cpu time, and I have to close it from task manager

The program works once you figure it out. The instructions on this page suck. To add a file of blocklists, just make sure the very first line of that file says: [BlockSite]

Then, to add stuff to a whitelist, you must select the whitelist option, and add the link you want to be safe. For example: http//*google.com
this makes all google relatedn pages viewable. (The * is a wildcard and can represent anything before the following text.) Likewise, to ban a whole range of sites you would click the Blacklist button and add the site: *AnysiteYouWant.com

Now any page related to that web address will be blocked. It's not rocket science, but the instructions on this page are kind of useless.

Exports of other users would be helpfull Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Normally I want to block sites that popup when downloading from rapidshare etc. I would be very effective to exchange export lists with other users.
