small change needed Rated 4 out of 5 stars

for the tickbox 'enable blocksite' you must go tools->addons->blocksite->enable blocksite yes/no...

can you please just create a button that we can put on the browser. I block *ads* which removes 99% of the unknown ad websites but obviously blocks all websites in general which contain ads. Although there are very few websites that contain 'ads' whenever I do come across the website, it is extremely annoying to disable it for the single website then enable it afterwards.

Please perform the simple task of adding in the enable blocksite button that you can place in any of the toolbars. It would be the difference between this addon being useful and this addon being a necessity.

Also if you do happen to make the 'enable blocksite' button you might want to consider another button to bring up the block websites page as again, going through tools->addons is very messy.

This is a GREAT program. I wouldn't run a internet browser on a Windows system without it. It is the only program I have used that will successfully block content.pulse.360.com from opening a browser tab.

To the developers :

should it be possible to add a button or something to Blocksite to automatically add the current *.domain.* (or at least the website) currently opened in firefox ???

Thank you in advance

Thank you for your review. We are planning to have this feature implemented in the next big update.

Anyone can disable or unistall BlockSite Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The program is very good, but has a critical error. Anyone can open the option of add-ons and disable or uninstall BlockSite. I suggest that the designer put the requirement of a password to disable or uninstall the BlockSite.

Great addon, but it no longer works with Firefox v3.6. I hope it gets updated and works again.

Does what it says it does but on my system it opens a blank window whenever a site is blocked (ie: PartyPoker). Am not getting the annoying site but still have to close an unwanted window. Not much less work. Am I missing something in its setup?

Thank you for your bug report. I already knew about this one and I'm currently addressing it in the next update.

Works nice,
but doesn't work anymore if you install greasemonkey, even if it there aren't any greasemonkey-scripts installed.

It works fine,
but doesn't work anymore if you install greasemonkey, also without installed scripts.

A good alternative is Leechblock, as this plugin has not been working on my setup: OS X 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.58.

3 Stars for the good intention of this PlugIn though... :-)

I really like this add-on, but recently upgraded to Firefox 3.6. I hope this add-on will be updated so that I can continue to use it!

I've only had this add-on for a little while, but straight off it did exactly what I needed it to. Website-blocking software from the general internets seems only to work for Internet Explorer, so it's great that there's something like this for Firefox. I'm just sayin', if you have any money lying around, you should probably give it to this guy. I pretty much feel compelled to plug that agenda while I'm here.

I would donate after checking out the next update. After almost two years of a lack of updating, I think I will try another add on.

Almost works great! The only thing that needs a touch up is the disable hyperlink. The hyperlink is still clickable, but doesnt go anywhere. Good Job! I hope to see more updates of this add-on :)

Support BlockSite Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Anyone who likes BlockSite should support the developer. It's only $2.50 and by doing so the developer will add database support to the add-on. This will probably speed up BlockSite a lot. Furthermore it will solve the issues some of us have when adding entries to the list.

It is of the essence to update this addon on this site; as for now though--use this fixup, it works perfectly.

Excellent but contains bugs Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, too bad it contains some nasty bugs.

If you don't want to waste your time by re-adding all the urls you had entered before, before you notice that the tool keeps removing them you might like my little BlockSite Management tool.

Just install the addon and then use my tool instead.

After making the changes noted by reviewer "R3SiEViL" in his/her 12/24/2009. This works great in Firefox 3.5.6 .. EXCEPT, after adding the 13th site to be blocked.. Firefox will no longer access any site. After removing the 13 site from the BlockSite list, Firefox works again.

Does any one have any idea how to change this to be able to support many more sites than the tiny 12 sites that this currently allows?

a must have addon Rated 4 out of 5 stars

thx a lot. works very good. Is there a list of such notorious sites that I could add? By the way you can only add the webtite addresses one by one?
