how to configue it ?? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

plz could anyone explain how to setup this addon ? for example what is webui path ??

thank you so much for the help

Have a look at the screenshot under the addon summary for an example of the settings. Typically the default webui path should be used for your client type unless you are using something like rTorrent and have changed it.

Please, could you provide a debug mode that let us know what's going wrong with.
In my case, I can add magnet link with deluge 1.3.10 from ubuntu PPA, but with an mystérious message error "unknow server" :-/.
On kickass torrent, clicking on the .torrent link just open firefox traditionnal window : "open with" or "save on local drive"

Five stars, with a couple of chinks Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great addon for those who have multi-machine setups. I've used it for months and during this time, I get to browse for torrents on my laptop from anywhere, send .torrent/magnet: back home to my desktop, and have the content already downloaded when I get back. This addon saved a lot of cut/paste and/or VNC.

I encountered two bugs recently so I thought I should bring them up to the dear developer:

First, the choice of torrent client doesn't stick in the setting's UI. To clarify, when I change the client, it DOES take effect. I know that by going to about:config and looking up extensions.bitTorrentWebUI.dispatcher value. This trick may help some users debug.

However, the change is not reflected in the UI, i.e., when a user clicks on Preference, the addon doesn't successfully read the saved up value on the choice of client and have that value reflected by making it the default option in the dropdown menu.

Secondly, .torrent files from a major sharing site have been escaping the addon and going straight to "Save As/Open With" popup window recently. I resorted to use only magnet link, but I had to give up certain functionality in my case.

It turns out the problem is in the header. This site set headers to Content-Type: application/octet-stream , aka binary, instead of the correct Content-Type: application/x-bittorrent. Firefox calls up its MIME type routines in order to pass the file to an external application, therefore bypassing the addon.

Until this addon is modified to accommodate this, I believe, glaring error from this dominant sharing site, I have a workaround. Two other addons, one called Mason and the other Force Content-Type let you override the webserver on this matter. The former is a better choice. It is a bit elaborate for the purpose, but the latter, by my experience, does not fire up every time reliably.

I hope we can see an update soon! Thanks Bunta, for the time and clicks and keystrokes you saved.

Fx 32.0.3 @ OS X | qBittorrent @ OS X

continued Rated 3 out of 5 stars

as per below I'm using FF 32.0.2

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

That might be why then, it's only compatible up to FF 28. I've tested in FF 29 but had some bugs and haven't tested in any version higher than that.

Work perfectly but ... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Work perfectly on my Windows 7 x64, but on my Windows 8.1 x64 i cant change the torrent software, if i change and validate, when i open again it's back to Azureus ... so when i try open a torrent file, nothing happen
Sorry for my english, Please help or update to fix this bug.

This sounds like a problem with your firefox not able to write the settings properly. Do you have a problem saving settings in any other addons?

Appears to be incompatible with later versions of Firefox. compatibility level is only know correct up to FF 28.

works perfectly! (with utorrent linux 3.3 beta) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does everything it should and works great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a HUGELY useful plug-in! Use it at work and on my Mac etc to download from one uTorrent on my main Media Server. :) Does everything I need! :D

Thanks again,
Keep it up!

P.S. Original error was fixed by uninstalling and re-installing uTorrent. :)

There is a link at the top of the description for bug reports and feedback.

Not sure why it would just stop working for you as you say it could possibly be the uTorrent version or Firefox update. If you middle click the addon icon to opne the web ui and can log in with the same username/password it should theoretically be fine.

You can try creating a new profile in firefox and testing it without any addons loaded to see if another addon may be interferring. Otherwise I would have to do some tests if that doesn't help.

Which version of Firefox are you using?

Thanks! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great! Took only a minute to setup, thanks!

Could Be Great But Lacking Instructions. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm sure that it's a good program but the big problem is that there are no instructions on how to set up the remote ui. You would think that the program inventor would at least have instructions on their webpage or even a Youtube video but I found none. For that I have to give this program 1 star. DO BETTER NEXT TIME!

There's not much to it, you fill in the options page and it works. There is a screenshot with an example of how to configure the options. Once that is done, just click on torrent links and they will be sent to your webui client when the addon is enabled. Left click the addon icon to enable/disable, middle click the icon to open the webui URL, right click for options. That's all there is to it, not really rocket science here.

If you're referring to instructions on how to set up the webui client then check out the documentation of the specific client you are using. I'm not adding documentation for all of the various clients this addon can connect to when they have their own documentation already.

For those with Transmission Client Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For those with Transmission client, your webui url might be like this: http://server_address/transmission/web/ , but to make this addon works, you need to use http://server_address/transmission/rpc/

Hope this helps. :)

Cyrillic problem Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Web UI not downloaded torrents if the name of the file on the Cyrillic

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It works great with every single tracker I´ve tried it on, both private and public, and with both torrents and magnet links, EXCEPT for KAT, since whenever I press the download "torrent" button on that site it insists on downloading it with my PC torrent client, no matter what. If I press the "magnet" button on the same page, though, it works beautifully, as it does the "torrent" button in any other tracker, such as TPB.

I´ve tried changing the "default" torrent app on Firefox/Tools/Options, but I cannot make WebUI+ work with KAT at all.

Any idea why, Mr. Developer?

Thanks a lot for your nice work.

Very useful for a long time until no new torrent could be added :/ Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like the say 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' so I never touched anything since I got it to work but recently I could access the 'Vuze WebUI' but not add new torrents ('401 - forbidden' was popping up). After searching through Mozilla's addons, I found out there currently are 3 different versions of this plug-in so I disabled this one, installed the '++' version and it's back to normal :)
I hope this helps anyone in the same situation. Have a nice day.

It appears the ++ addon is just an older version of this addon.
Have you tried installing the v0.2.2.2 version of this addon to see if it is the same?
Please let me know if that works for you and I'll check what might have broken it to fix in a newer update.

Just perfect ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I discovered this addon today.I am using it with Transmission and I have detected a bug, a little one. When I add a new torrent with magnet appears a windows so fast and then another windows showing that the torrent is duplicated (I guess that the first windows is the added succesfully)I have tried to figure out how to solve it by the source code, but I am sorry I have never written any addon.Anyway, thank for this great addon ;)

I am editing this because I don't know how to reply to you.

Anyway, I wasn't double clicking, I tried some times. But, it looks like everything is fine, today the "torrent duplicate" message didn't appear, so may be it was because of firefox or even my computer.

Are you double clicking the links instead of single clicking them by any chance?

Indispensable Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My favorite plugin. I use it daily.

Simply Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Using ruTorrent 3.5 (with rTorrent 0.9.3/0.13.3) and this works swimmingly! Would be cool if there was a context menu option to download a torrent/magnet link using a local client, might develop it myself if I can find the time. Also, do you have a public repository of this plugin on Github, Google code or anything? Would be easier for the community to contribute if so.Made this account simply to write this review, also the first time I've donated to an add-on developer. So glad to not have to copy the link address and paste it anymore. Made my day!

EDIT: Yes, I noticed that but I'd prefer a context menu option as well as it would be quicker to toggle on or off. Or even a keyboard shortcut.

Yeah, public repos are great. Easier to maintain the project if the code is easily accessible to other people so others may join in development.

No problem, do something cool with it.

Thanks a lot for your review.

One of the good things with this addon is that it has the ability to work with both a remote and local torrent client simultaneously.
Simply click the addon icon to enable it and the torrent links will be captured by the addon and sent to your remote client.
If you then click the icon again to disable it the torrent links will no longer be captured and will open up with your local client normally.

Thanks a lot for your donation they're quite a rare thing.
I don't have a google code repository but that might be a good idea to create one for it...

EDIT: I've set up a google code repository now:

For me it works sometimes, and not others. With deluge 1.3.6 (python 2.7, libtorrent 16.8), on windows 7 64bit, firefox 22. I don't know if it's the deluge daemon being picky, or if it's the plugins implementation; but it doesn't work consistently enough for me to keep.
