My 2nd review on BetterPrivacy because I sounded an idiot on the first one! I LOVE this add-on, love it. I also use CCleaner and it also clears the flash cache but this also disables DOM storage which yes you can do manually but you have to mess about in about config. I note some saying you can do these things manually and whilst that may be true this saved time and when I've logged out of an online shopping site - I want my LSO's cleaning there and then right that second for security rather than wait until the end of session and then clean tracks. My only small gripe is it does hand the browser a couple of seconds on closing but if it is set to manual delete them or auto delete on exit without asking user - it seems to be ok. A great add-on for those who are security minded yet not sure what to do or a bit impatient / worried about privacy at times like me. Thank you!

Fantastic! It does exactly what it says without dreaded browser lag! My only small gripe is it hangs if you set it to auto delete and ask, easy fixed by removing them via the manual option (which if you have used a secure site best to do it a.s.a.p you have logged out) or set it not to ask. I do not think it is a bug just anything that empties on exit does hand a couple of seconds. Either way I love this but if I forget to do it I also use a certain C**p cleaning program and delete the flash cookies with it set to Guttman pass.

The very add-on I was looking for Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've found my way through web (lack of) privacy with the idea of "amnesiac browsing sessions" - let all sites store whatever they want with expire dates in beyond future, but forget it all when the browser closes.

I've got to know about Flash cookies and started to wonder how to include them in the forgotten data. I thought about an OS script to empty the corresponding folder upon computer restart... But laziness spoke louder... And it wouldn't work so well...

So I've tried disabling them globally in the manager at Adobe's site. But then many video sites broke and I had to undo it.

And now I find this perfect, complete and easy-to-use extension! Does e-x-a-c-t-l-y what it should, and so much more:

- Allows the exact behavior of forgetting the data upon browser exit, among other great triggering options.

- Allows me to freely re-enable Flash storage for all sites and enjoy again all the previously broken ones, without privacy worries.

- Autodetected the Flash storage folder so I hadn't even to have this hassle.

- Since it's Flash's (not Firefox's) storage, even helps me out when other people at home insist in using IE, erasing Flash cookies from previous sessions of that browser every time I use my preferred one. ;-)

- And introduced me to DOM Storage and Click-pings, about which I'm starting to learn right away!

Congratulations, Greg Yardley!
Congratulations, NettiCat!

Works well on redhat linux. It found some LSO objects and asked for removal. I set to always delete and respective the last week no issues could be found.

Since DOM storage objects are in file webappsstore.sqlite you could possibly pick and choose sites to clear in there.

Indispensable extension if you set value on security and privacy. Does all necessary tasks automatically. It removed more than 700 of these persistant cookies from my PC. Some were older than 2 years!

While I applaud the concept, I find that this extension requires too much overhead/effort to enable Flash to work on "permitted" or as developer calls them "protected" sites. UI needs simplifying as well - very annoying that you have to click twice for each protected site, and that cursor ALWAYS returns to top of list after each click. Unintalling for now.

This is an essential extension for everyone who is concerned about security or privacy. I installed this on my Linux system without any problems. Works just as advertised. Thanks to the author!

What a big surprise. The usually entertaining, sometimes also annoying little flash animations carry an evil load. I'm particularily interested in movies, though a lot of invisible companions were stored on my harddisk. The addon offers useful options and once instructed to work automatically it does a fine job on removing the unobtrusive but inconvenient objects. Recommendable.

Really handy add-on. No problems working for me, installed fine. It found just over 500 of these LSO's, i was quite shocked as some of these dated back to '06. A worthwhile add-on for Firefox.

This is awesome! Wow I cannot recommend this highly enough! If I had been doing something with personal data such online shopping or had been on a video and graphic laden social networking site (as examples) I would go and delete them manually but this saved time and you can configure it to auto delete plus more info on each flash cookie and even more. I love this, it's become one of those essential add-ons. No problems with it at all! Thank you!
