Another great Add-on from Netticat. Works without problems here. Everybody should use it if privacy is important for you... and it should.

one of the best addons for those who want more privacy.

It's too bad that Adobe did not warn anyone about how they could be tracked with these cookies:(...

Great job! Just wondering if you could add flash blocking (something along the lines of flashblock?)

And it does not bloat the browser either! Kudos!

Thank You! Works Perfectly! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If I could have just one extension, this would be it. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and has never caused a problem with other extensions or websites. It's very easy to use, I even installed it for my 82-year-old grandmother and she has no problems either.

Very valuable, thank you!

Nice add-on. But a very welcome improvement would be to also clean out cookies, except for those cookies on a white-list (i.e. protected list) that you want to keep.

I know there are lots of cookie cleaners already out there, but I think what is needed is a SINGLE add-on that cleans BOTH LSO's and cookies with a single click AND that has support for white-lists.

Wow, a great one !!!
remember as read and learned about "Super Cookies"... a year ago or so.
thought what's that s***t (I mean the SC)
Found on the same time there was a protective add... ahhh nice :-)
I use quiet often it to choose which SC can remain in my pc...
so deactivated the auto-deletion :-)

Well, I know we're anyway all under
Big Brother eyes (Google, Msft, and so on) but still prefer to know what is under my control or not :-)

Simplicity: flawless
User benefits: TREMENDOUS!
I'm on a student budget. I can't afford all of the web subscription fees to catch up on my favorite shows (e.g., on HULU.) This handy add-on clears my viewing history with one click and I can watch the next episode without any delay, tracking cookies, etc.
THANK YOU!

Brilliant --- I didn't even realize this was an issue until I saw the article in NY Times recently.

This plugin is now installed on all machines I administer.

Great tool. Solves a privacy flaw, which should be done by flash itself! Small problem, "Better Privacy Prferences" - Window is 748x630 in size, this is too high for a netbook, should be maximum of 600 minus taskbar height, Thanks!

Thank you for will being to use significant Add-on.
However, it is Version 1.44 and there is a problem.
I am using Namoroka/3.6a2pre. The layout of an optional screen collapses in Version 1.44. There is no problem in Version 1.43. Moreover, the problem is not in Shiretoko3.54pre as for Version 1.44 either. When it is Namoroka/3.6a2pre, it becomes a layout that an optional screen falls into disorder.

Just once resizize the window to fit it's content

The next time BetterPrivacy should open the window with the correct size. Otherwise please visit my homepage to file a bugreport there. It would be a good idea to upload a screen-shot to some free image host so that I can see the layout.

1984 - should be expanded to kill all web trackers besides cookies when you leave a site! Problem, though what could be more American than cherry pie? Most of us select these with much fear. We need an outside (of the industry) group of coders to vet the sourcecode. It's in my kit, but I'm still afraid which side anybody is on these days.

Indispensable. I wish the AMO editors could keep up, it took me a while to discover there were later versions!

TV Guide problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this extension which takes care of a major privacy hole in firefox. I used to just manually delete the horde of files in the flash directory every once in a while.

A couple of notes:
1. If you enable the 'Disable DOMStorage' feature, it will break the listings grid at the TV Guide site (www.tvguide.com) so that you cannot change the date or time of the listings. I imagine it might break some other sites as well, so try disabling it if you have a weird problem. Took me a while to figure this one out.
2. If you enable the feature to delete the default flash cookie, you will also lose the flash global settings stored there (camera, microphone, storage). It would be nice if BP could modify the file instead of deleting it to remove just the site-specific stuff while preserving the global settings, though I'm not sure if that's possible.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.41).

Please install the latest version (1.41) from my homepage.

See FAQ, first answer, on update problem details!
Newer BetterPrivacy versions use another method to get rid of DOM storage data, thus there is no conflict with web-pages anymore. The latest development version even removed the "Disable DOM storage" setting completely.

Major BetterPrivacy enhancements would be needed to make Flash cookie modifications possible. This would also mean that BetterPrivacy would grow to approximately the double of the current size. In my opinion this is not appropriate for an addon whose business is just cookie deletion. I understand that some users are wondering that BetterPrivacy has a size of 24 KiloByte while it is possible to allow session-LSO deletion by using a batch script of less than 50 Bytes.
