While Firefox allows me to search selected text using the configured search engine, it doesn't allow me to search each specific selection on a specifically selected site. And while add-ons like Context Search and Context Search X offer a selection context menu that makes it possible to search selections on any of the installed search engines / sites, I prefer a context menu that allows me to use DuckDuckGo's !bang syntax as it supports almost 4,000 search engines / sites, many difficult if not impossible to install in Firefox and thus to search selections on using one of the aforementioned add-ons.
Several ideas I am considering and may implement in a future version:
- Add option to replace the default Search selection context menu item with the menu this add-on offers (so that the selection context menu becomes less cluttered).
- Support for Thunderbird.
- Improve usability of preferences.
- Add option to open DuckDuckGo and fill query using a keyboard shortcut.
If you have an idea about which feature should be implemented first or have a new idea, you are welcome to share your thoughts by posting a review.
