I've been using this extension for a while now and I greatly prefer it to the current New Tab Page that was added recently.
After changing the "browser.newtab.preload" in about:config to false, it started to work again :-)
I have problem with FF v24.0:When I open a new tab, sometimes Auto Dial appears, but sometimes the built-in new tab page. Could you please fix it? I love this add-on, and I don't wan't to use the built-in one. Thanks!
So, I figured out, that if I click quick enough on the new tab icon, maybe every second tab is Auto Dial. But if I click on the icon slowly, maybe every 7th or 8th tab is only Auto Dial. Strange, but true.
I hope, it helps you to solve this problem.
just updated to firefox 12.0: it says that autodial is not compatible. Sad, because I like much this plugin. Do you know how to overcome this problem?
Version 13.0: it works again :-) good!
Start page totally messed up after upgrading to FF 11.0! For several times badges were disappearing, showing some error message instead, and after a while the addon became "incompatible with FF 11". Guess it should be fixed somehow.
It would be a really cool addon if it wouldn't only show pages that i have manually entered in the adress bar. This makes the addon completly useless, please fix this. It would just make sense if it would also show the frequently visited pages that I have opened from the bookmarks.
Or is there a workaround or another extension that fixs this problem? Am I the only one with this problem?
Clicking on X removes it from history. This is undesirable.
pls support .40b8
It would be a great addon, except there's no real way to manually add links, plus removing them by clicking the 'x' doesn't work.
All I get is a blank page. Any help out here? This addon used to work great for me, but now, KaPlooey.
Firefox V 3.53
Nice addon, you should integrate this and add an option to have it like this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9882
Nice idea, although I'm a bit lost with such quantity of links (would be fine to reduce the total number of links... to have e.g. only the top 10 or 15 visited websites)
Moreover there's a weird thing with the favicons: they're stretched horizontally, making the whole display ugly.
Very nice! But...
I don't understand why it shows sites visited once and hides others - true frequently visited sites.
Great addon yet more customization will be appreciated. Also depending upon how "Auto Dial" works, its name is somewhat inappropriate. It should be something like "History Tab" or more conveniently "Most(ly used) Tab" or something similar for easier recognition...
I like it, its my favourite new tab extension but just two things I want to mention:
1) could you add a way to pin the sites that we like, so that they always show up when we open a new tab
2) something is wrong with the way firefox handles 'most visited' sites. sometimes in autodial I see sites that I have just visited once, and I believe this is a problem with firefox, not with this extension in particular.
WARNING: Anyone following the instructions suggested for enabling AD / TMP compatibility will discover that opening new tabs no longer focuses the address bar on new tab open. This behaviour persists until new tabs are *not* directed to chrome://autodial/content, whether or not AD is installed.
maybe u can make auto dial bookmarks :)
i'm searching for one that actually shows my "bookmarks toolbar" bookmarks at new tab. as chrome does it. what about to make an extension for that? very much change needed?
An answer to solve (or work-around) IETab conflict can be found in http://forum.moztw.org/viewtopic.php?p=142430#142430
Yes, my V6 issue is because I also use the IEtab add-on. Hopefully, I can go back up to V6 or above, soon. A very cool, and visual, add-on.
Love this add-on, but I agree with Raymond. V6 has bugs so suggest people use v5, for now. V6 causes there to be no URL shown in the address box, and the separate search box is disabled. Maybe it's just me and/or in combo with other add-ons I happen to use on FF 3.0.5 on WinXP.
I too was looking for something to emulate the Google Chrome start page. And this does the trick. It would be great with some thumbnails, but I can live without that.
Auto Dial 6 lives up to its name. It automatically remembers my most-visited sites and gives me a bunch of buttons to choose from when I open a new window or tab. All I have to do is dial away.
Note to Tabs Mix Plus users: Configure the Tab Opening to User Location "chrome://autodial/content".
Great extension! I really like the zero-configuration speed dial interface.
However, I think that non-advanced users would find useful an Option Panel where configure various about:config settings. Plus, I'd like set different font type and size in Auto Dial page.
After intalled to version 6, I can't "add page to bookmark".
I can see the web address on the entry area. This make me very difficult to copy page to other browser because some pages is very hard to see inside FireFox. I don't know why make this as a option for some user to select feature. And looks like it make the Firefox slower than ever. I have to downgrade to version 5 in order to solve the slow down issue because my NB is not so powerful.
