Mediocre at best Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Although it is a simple yet perfect idea, the execution of the idea is somewhat flawed.
The most important issue is that from time to time APOD uploads really huge pictures (which is awesome) but linking those huge images without any modification is really problematic. Although I have a relatively new computer and am using the latest version of Firefox, with those huge pictures on the background it is really slow to open a new tab.
Another problem is (again) from time to time APOD uploads pictures which have weird aspect ratios, since this add-on does not have a border around the background image (and only considers the widths of the image and the firefox window), then those pictures with the weird aspect ratio become zoomed to the point that nothing is recognizable. Instead of this current approach, (at least with an option) one could consider the heights and the widths of the image and the firefox window at the same time.
Other than these annoyances, it is a lovely add-on.

Works as described. Able to use in combination with Big Clock Background.

I've been going to APOD for a few years now by way of their feed. Having the add-on is a nice "extra". You should, however, add 'background-position:center;' to your CSS--some images are rather "tall" and one is left looking at the very top-most part of them (which typically doesn't show the object of the image). Plus, when the POTD is a video, something other than a blank page as the background would be preferable.
Feature suggestion: hover the left margin to hide the grid (to "reveal" the image--yeah, I'm aware of the toggle button, but that turns it off until you turn it on again; the "hide on hover" is just a mouse-move to the left while the toggle button is a move to the right + a mouse click to hide + another mouse click to restore ...so, simpler to just hover for a temporary action :D )
Hello, thanks for your feedback.
Version 1.4 includes a configurable centering switch. Regarding the feature suggestion, on the top-right side of the page there's a button to hide the grid (That comes from Firefox itself)
I'm still thinking what to do with videos... POTD sites aren't supposed to contain videos.. ;-)

For the person who loves NASA pictures comes this awesome add on. Now I can enjoy the "New Picture of the Day" anytime I open Firefox. Thank you! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1-signed).
