Author site pretty much dead (since 2009?). All links there lead to dead end too.
Hmph, currently still work per FF56.
Far more useful way to add new search engine than current or old implementation. It's a pity if no one could (re)write this to be future compatible.
It's a simple useful help.
Please update this for Firefox 57! It's a built-in feature on the mobile version of Firefox, but it's a necessity on the desktop.
Well, I love this extension. Oddly enough, all my settings from the old Firefox (56 and below), still transfer over, but I can't add any other searches anymore. This was truly a really good addon. I hope, that a WebExtension port will be made sometime in the future.
Please make this addon compatible with firefox 57+. This addon is a must to have
Great add-on ! Nice with icons!
Well, when U will add mouse context add-on, U will get POWERFULL & usefull search add-on in one! Like oldschool InstantFox. But this add-on is much easy!
Please make this Addon workable for Firefox 57 which is upcomming in November !
Doesn't work any more in recent Firefox versions. Used to be a mandatory addon!
Does not seem to work anymore with Firefox 55.0.3. Used to love the add on.
It just need a option to save the settings, it would be perfect if we could export the settings and then import it to a new computer
A wonderful addon!
One of my default add-ons when installing Firefox. Thanks developer!
It's a handy tool. I could add most of the input areas into my FireFox search engine list.
I found that it does not have a simplified Chinese menu. Hope the developer could fix it.
Everybody should use it, it's amazing. Turns Firefox' search bar to a mighty tool.
Using nightly now and it doesn't let me install it, sad because this extension is perfect and necessary!
Only workaround I found is to use Firefox ESR. It will start using the same profile as usual, then you can install this extension, use it to add any search engine you want and when you go back to Firefox Quantum they will stick since it's using the same profile.
Required field ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I wanted a way to select my DDG cloud save link when searching and this works great! I also added some other random websites I use, like Goodreads. Thanks!!
One of my few absolute must have add-ons. Brilliantly easy right-click-to-add. Some websites don't play nice, but nearly all do.
As for other search bar options, my other essential add-on is Mycroft Project. It has tonnes of search plugins that can be added to the search bar, many of which have been customised with specific search parameters.
BIG THANKS TO DR. EVIL
how can i add referer param/value to the xml code you generate?
could you consider to add an option to specify it during engine creation?
without that one of the websites i use ignores search requests, referer need to be set to the target host url for search to work.
so right now i had to install an additional extension (Referer Control) just for that.
Due to a recent mishap I had to add search engines without this addon. That meant more work, but more importantly, with "bare" firefox you often get the same (green addon) icon. That means that you cannot distinguish between search engines other than by hovering over the icon. Which is kind of annoying, 'cause it slows you down. So please, Mozillas... If the author of this addon does not make it compatible with multiprocess, then patch up your half-baked GUI yourself!
For example, MSDN.
was trying to make ecosia work from the search bar rather than clikcing home button all the time. just go to ecosia home page, add to search bar like normal then go to options then change search from google etc to whatever you like :)
It works very well. Thanks!
