This does work with FF 3.5. It just takes a few steps to download, unzip and edit the install.rdf file. Please see other comments with details on how to do this.
If the original author could confirm this as open source or alternatively hand it over to someone else it wuold be very easy to fix so it could be installed directly from here. But until then you need to do the edit yourself.
Please correct Add N Edit Cookies to be compatible with firefox 3.5
plz add compatibility with ff 3.5
I was looking for an add-on like this for a long time, and finally found one to see that it is not compatible with version 3.5.
I hope you update it soon.
What license is it released under, I'll post a modded XPI that is compatible with 3.5.*, if I am allowed to modify + distribute it (aka, Open Source License).
The instructions on July 8, 2009 by Deleted User and titled 'Firefox 3.5' work great! It allows the add-on to work with 3.5 :) Thank you!
Enhances Firefox cookie manager by making it easier for users to search, delete, and even edit cookies.
It's unfortunate though that, as of this writing, it does not work with Firefox 3.5+.
Great tool, unfortunately it does not work with Firefox 3.5...
to get to work on 3.5. save target with IE. Change .ext to zip. Extract, open install.rdf wit notepad. chg max version to 3.5. delete componants folder (as is empty) and recompress. rename to origal filename with .xpi ext and install... works great
You can Download with support to FF3.5.
i only changed the maxVersion to 3.* in the install.rdf file.
Don't work with Firefox 3.5! Please, adapted it! It's my Favourite add-on!!! :((((((((((((((((((
To force it work on 3.5+:
- On Vista, backup :\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\\extensions\\install.rdf (make sure isAdd N Edit Cookies)
- modify to 3.*
Incredibly useful for web development.... but no longer works under Firefox 3.5.
Need to be able to edit domain cookies as well as host cookies.
go to tools>cookie editor, for anybody having problems.
very nice addon, good for clearing specific cookies.
I installed it as a developer but I also found myself using it to clean some cookies that I didn't want on my pc (like Google's).
how does this work?
I go to tools->addons->NEdit cookie->Options & i see nothing it just says just close or uninstall.
How can we use this thing?
I have set dont accept cookies from websites. But I have some exceptions.
So I need to do this for specific sites: Always accept cookies from an exceptional site & delete those cookies after I close firefox.
Can Someone recommend an addon that can do this?
If this addon can do this explain how please.
Lasrima que no las guarda al cerrar el explorador
That guy is right about it not working with 'third party cookies' disabled.
Sorry, no good tool!
Options near zero. No preferences. Uncomfortable operating. You have to click for each single cooky. No Keybaord operation implied. There had to be a browsing through the cokies by using arrow up and down and deleting them by DEL-Key. Missing an option to save selected loved cookies into a choosable. Also missing multiple marking of cookies and the option "allow/forbid cooky" . That is not what I expect from a cookie EDITOR!
The version for FF3 has a bug. When the option "Accept third-party cookies" is disable "Add N Edit Cookies" don't work.
This is very functional tool!
However it would be nice if it would offer import and export of single/multiple cookies to/from "easy-to-read" file format.
Then it can be used to easily move cookies between different computers.
Is it possible to add this kind of functionality?
Promising but limited...
Not sure, why not allow to edit the 'Name' field for example...
Anybody who wants to have full control of the cookies can use 'SQLite Manager' add-on and edit all fields because Firefox 3 cookies are stored in SQLite database, which can be found in your Firefox profile folder. It is called ‘cookies.sqlite’.
