I tried it it worked ok, but I thought of a few possibilities that could either make it better or be another add-on entirely. 1) Include a menu like 'Personas' to select the style of art. For example: checking a box for sculptures, abstract sculptures, abstract paintings, fine art oils, fine art water colors, pop art retro, pop art modern, graffiti retro, graffiti modern, ceramics etc. 2) Enable the ability of user image files to rotate or cycle through by time or next command. Any option to individualize use of your add-on would improve and validate it's value- TY

Would you please to implement an option to load and show the original Ad by a click on image ?
It would be great to use it like a "flashblock"- replacement and for images and media too !!!

Ok. so this is not my program but i have an opinion. If your going to make a program that is often going to be used to bock images of women and men wearing close to no clothes if any you shouldn't put art of people with no clothes. There are better ways to create a platform for people to experience art. if you want to preview what you will be in for before you add this program check this link.
This is not something children should see. Its a graphic image so don't check it if you don't want to be exposed to naked people art.

Not sure if this has turned into some sort of joke add on because it used to work perfectly fine. I find the some of the images disturbing (woman and man probing a decapitated persons head) My primary reason for getting this was to protect my little sisters from the occasional disturbing image not to make sure they were subjected to such things. Dont get me wrong this was a great add on about a year ago when images were replaced by art. 0* if i could but 1* will have to do.

Yeah, the sick porn and bondage scenes have showed up on my art add-on today also. I have now uninstalled. WTH? I tried to find an email to alert someone at firefox but cannot find one.

I can't believe that without warning pornographic images have been loaded onto my comptuer. Why isn't there a choice? For goodness sakes not all of us want to look at cocks or gay bondage. I thought images like that had to be on "adult" sites. What about parents that haven't seen what these images are? You could get people into big trouble for what you've slipped into this. And just one more thing..why should I have to give this a rating? Isn't there "heck no I don't want to rate this button?" The rating of the porn is over the top don't you think?

Brilliant! Replacing resource-hogging ads with contemporary art has to be the most beautiful, generous, and ingenious functionality to be offered as an option to enhance ones web browsing experience. I feel the fundamental idea of Add-Art is really an artwork all on its own. In fact, on a few occasions, I could honestly say the idea of Add-Art was more interesting than the work it was exhibiting at the time. Add-Art is essentially fostering opportunities to expose the masses to contemporary artwork by hosting digital exhibitions in spaces which were once occupied by less intellectual, and sometimes malicious, content: web ads. Anyhow, the idea of this add-on alone deserves praise, recognition and support. Shame on those that are giving this a bad rating just because they didn't like the exhibition that was up at whatever point in time they used it. If you don't like the work, it is not the programs fault. As previously noted, I see the exhibitions to be secondary in importance when compared to the fundamental concept of replacing something annoying and/or malicious with something thoughtful, intelligent, and maybe even beautiful. So, if the current exhibition is not inline with your aesthetics, then please be aware that is only YOUR opinion, which ultimately has nothing to do with the effectiveness or functionality of the add-on in regards to the intended purpose of the rating system which hosts this review. So to keep things fair and honest and to perpetuate peace, love and happiness in strange places such as this add-on review site, I might suggest that if you hate the current show, don't rate the add-on based on your criticism of the current work, please. You can express your opinions about art on a blog or forum, you can turn Add-Art off for a couple weeks until new work is uploaded, or better yet, you can look at the show every day and attempt to articulate why you don't like the work, why someone else might love the work, and maybe even identify ways to make the work stronger so you can make your own art and one-up that artist whose work you hated so much you ALMOST gave Add-Art a bad review, right before you read my post and came to your senses. On an semi-related note which is specifically responding to the review about "inappropriate content", if you can identify "inappropriate content" within an artwork I am compelled to believe your idea of art is not on the same page as that of the Add-Art Team's, or even the contemporary art world as as a whole, for that matter. Art can be whatever an artist wants. Art doesn't like rules and doesn't care what is appropriate under whatever circumstances you might find it offensive. In fact, offensive art is usually more successful than non-offensive. If its is a "family" sense of appropriateness you are referring to, art will always let you down so take your family to the zoo and skip the art museum. Maybe your idea of art is Thomas Kinkade or watercolor seascapes by that guy on PBS? If that's what going on, still stick with the zoo. The mall will have your Kinkades but you might have to cover your children's eyes when walking past Abercrombie or Victoria Secrets.

I mentioned this in an earlier review, and just as I thought, It went to nudity. I'm scrambling to remove the images from my computer and hoping my Boss doesn't run an audit of my machine. I gave it a shot, and now have it uninstalled and will not recommend.

make a gallery of art similar to the one personas delivers. make sure to make a NSFW category, so that users do not have to explain why pornographic images were on their computer.

Great idea for an add-on, and the delivery keeps getting better. Just don't expect too much from the "art." I thought the nods to 350.org were a little much (and just another kind of ad), but the current set of kaleidoscoped gay bondage porn and post-coital genitals are definitely over the NSFW line. Don't get me wrong--I'm no prude--but come on.

Try to find less sophomoric "curators" to assemble your collections - - you're driving users away for obviously inappropriate content.

Add-art keeps on giving. There are loads of images and they are updated frequently - meaning you never get bored. I would recommend this to everyone who is already fed up with ads, and everyone with the slightest interest in contemporary art.

I quite love this. It is wonderful to have art replacing ads. How could one complain? Well... though I am not complaining - some might. Without getting into what "art" constitutes some might consider the content to not be "safe for work" While browsing recently I was presented with something fairly suggestive. This is a great idea but it does take up a large amount of memory space and the art that I've seen is MEH, at best. I have yet to see a piece that interested me.

I'll give it a 5 for the idea the fact it works. But 7000 kb? That's one of the largest sized add-ons out there. This shouldn't be more than 700 kb tops and that's with Adblock Plus. The idea is to replace ads with pictures not make a whole art show while slowing down browsing in the process.

Does this work in combination with the add-on NoScript? Could anyone tell mee?

really really good. The art keeps getting better, and I'm really glad to be rid of all the advertising. The kids like it too.

there isn't any way to choose what gallery of "art" (I use the term loosely based on the current animated .gif set) that is being used. I feel after the previous set, this set has hijacked my browser. I felt that add-art was broken the first time I saw the current set. I use add-art at work. I don't need this to get out of hand. I don't want nudity or any other objectionable "art".

If this is to be expected in the future, I wholeheartedly recommend that you disable/remove this add-on.

Anyone who is a fan of this add-on before the current set please make a viable alternative to this add-on

Add in the functionality for the End User to select what art set, categories, non-animated, etc they wish to use. Have a place for users to vote on what they want to see. I don't discredit beauty is in the eye of the beholder, don't let my browser become ruined again.
