Dear Lewis, Rowan I was searching this type of utility for long time, but I am now much happier then ever before, after getting it as add-on for lovable firefox.

Help Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Used to be Amazing!
But recently the save button simply do not act anymore. It just does nothing. I think this come out within the last firefox update. Not sure. Maybe some other add-on who could conflict?

spec: Firefox 3.5.6 en-us

Works good except that it needs an option to customize the hot keys.

Very handy tool that I've used it many times, and I find it's slightly faster than using the Alt+Print Screen method. Major speed increases if you need to take screenshots of sections of websites as opposed to the entire site.

The only change I'd like to see to this add-on is that it would pick up on embedded flash.

Highly recommended, however not a 5 star since it doesn't pick up on embedded flash.

It works great also under 3.1 beta 2, but you need to disable add-on compatibility checking. Hope the developer releases quickly an upgrade.

Its just a waste of time and effort. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

OK, I must be missing something fundamental here. As Oreb writes, everything works fine up to save stage. But then, after I've captured my page, selected the type of image I want to capture and the selection of screen that I actually want, I click on "Save" - and nothing happens.

Now I'm not an Tech-head, but neither do I consider myself a "WTF-Noobie" as Tom Thurston so elegantly puts it. There is no right click facility, there are no instructions and there is NOTHING on any forum that I've googled that explains where my file is saved, and whether I can change the default folder (if it even HAS saved, that is!)

I don't know what users are talking about when they say "Specifying where I want to save my picture file is a plus" because that option doesn't exist for me.

For the sheer time and frustration I've expended trying to find a solution to this, I've given it one star. Mozilla's "Save page as" just wouldn't work anymore and I was hoping this would be the answer to my prayers. Its just a waste of time and effort.

Nice and simple Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Really nice add-on, does one simple thing, which is capturing any portion of the browser window, w/o any complicating settings or unnecessary options. right click -> save page as image, and you have an image of the whole or part of the screen.

Best webpage screen capture utility anywhere (and I've tried a ton). If it had a "Print" option on the selection window (I'm thinking between Reset and Save) it would be the perfect add-on.

Liked previous version better Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I agree with much of the comments about the old version. It better suited my needs. I tried to make a screenshot of a part of a page using frames and it didn't work (yes, I went through the comments to look for a solution). Furthermore, I don't need the part-of-a-page functionality, I've got FastStone Image Viewer to make that kind of screenshots.

The fact that the program does not make jpeg's anymore is no issue for me (it's easy enough to convert a png file using the above mentioned program). I can understand the author when he wants to work only with lossless formats, but I think, when making screenshots, one is not looking for pixel-perfect quality, but for something that is good to look at (jpeg certainly is), is not too large (idem) and can easily be handled (e.g. mailed, pasted in a document etc.).

I loved the old version for its simplicity, which now seems to be a bit lost. Meanwhile I've reverted to 2.026 and I stay a happy Abduction! user.

Works as advertised. I'd appreciate it much more if it had a scale feature to size it to, say, 50% or 400 pixels wide. Would also be nice to zoom out in the viewer. Also, would be very nice if the selection box had handles on the edges so you could easily modify, rather than start over. A toolbar button to take a snap would be a nice feature. Great idea, though. Much easier than using PhotoShop, like I usually do. Thanks for the contribution.

Very nice. 网页能够整个保存为图片,或者拖选一个区域保存;保存格式支持PNG或JPG(高/中/低)。刚装上,“文件”菜单中多了一项,太好用了。Thanks.

Great idea. It works fine up to the save feature. But then nothing happens. I'm keeping an eye out though; I really like the flow of this one.

For too long I had used "print screen" and pasted an image into Paint to crop and save a portion of it. Abduction saves me so much time and effort. I can select the portion of the screen I want, and even try again if I mess up by clicking "reset" in the capture window. Very quick to load, and easy to use. Specifying where I want to save my picture file is a plus, too. Great job. I love it.

Suggested Feature Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First, this add-on saves lots of time. I'd like to suggest a feature that I believe would make it even more helpful: a draggable frame of changeable size (inches or pixels). Often, entire web pages are too large to be printed on one page, so they have to be broken up. It's easy to do that with Abduction! by selecting different parts of the page and saving them one-at-a-time. It would be great if we could have an option to set the length and width of a draggable frame that we could move around on the image. Whatever's inside the frame is selected to be saved. It would be even better if we could do it all in one shot by saving one web page as a series of 7.5" by 10" images, for example, so that they could print nicely on 8.5" by 11" paper. It would also be nice if the sides of the Abduction! screen had ruler markings.
