Addon crashes after a few days Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this addon, it's great for opening links on my desktop quickly on my phone.

I tend to leave my firefox open and my computer on. After a few days it seems the button and menu item disappear. I have to disable/enable the addon to get them back.

works perfectly [firefox 28.0b8] Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple and easy to use yet full of all the features you could want. Works on links (absence of which being the reason I switched away from a similar addon), images (creates from image source url), selected text, and full pages. Code image is easily scalable with varying error correction levels, can be edited in real time (text field can be hidden when not in use), and even saved as a png.

Working perfectly in 24.0a2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Versatile and clean. Can save the image, zoom in, change the text after generating it.
Wish: Show QR for background image.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.4).

Nice idea

Sorry for the delay ... i was (still am) loaded with the day job... btw, I love the idea... though I'm not sure if I can get hold of background image (I think since I can traverse DOM, I should be able to do it... but i'd have to check that out)... Also, I guess I'd like to show it only when the click isn't done on a link or image (basically an item along side showQR item which shows url's QRCode).-----------------UPDATE-------------------I've pushed another release to AMO which has this feature. You'd automatically get the new version once FF polls for addon updates (else you can manually look for the updates.

Broken in 22.0a2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not functioning. Keyboard shortcut not responding, UI button is hidden (and from Customise Toolbar list) and no entry shown in right-click menu.

Sorry

There was a bug in 0.9.1 which is fixed in 0.9.2. Due to that bug, I removed v0.9.1 and v0.8.5 (which you have now) didn't have support some tags recently required by addons to have to support (or alternatively opt-out) of private browsing.

QR code invisible Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The floating window is too small to fit the QR-code image. So only a part of code is visible. It needs to press "maximize" button to see the generated code.

bug in this release

That was a bug in 0.9.1 which is fixed in 0.9.2. Please update to the latest version.

Hope have save image function... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you :-(

Added this feature in v0.9.2

v0.9.2 has this feature along with a text box to type in text which would get reflected in the QR. Also, you can now open the current pop up in a new window.

Me parece muy bien que funcione sin depender de un servicio de terceros.

0.9.1 works

I just needed to switch off private browsing mode which is new thing in the latest SDK. The latest addon is still up for review. Brave hearts can download it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/offline-qr-generator/versions/

Great add-on! Fast and comfortable Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I just wish it was also available on other browsers...

Great QR addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After adding the link/picture QR options, it has everything a QR generator should have, with one major difference - it is the only one that works offline and doesn't require connecting to Google's or other services.
One minor issue is that it is larger in size than its counterparts, probably due to its offline functionality, but I guess it's also due to its "restartless" nature - almost all the restartless addons I've seen are significantly larger than their older brethren... cannot something be done about this???
Finally, in answer to a previous review - you CAN create QR for arbitrary text: you can enter any text in any textbox on a page, select it and its QR will be shown. This is just a workaround, it would be nice feature to have dedicated textbox by the addon, but it's doable.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.5).

Yup, would do that

v0.9.2 has a text box for this functionality below the code. You can also open in a new tab to have a larger text area (using resize handle in the textarea). The UI is quite clunky. I definitely need some feedback/suggestion to make that better. For the size, I think it's because currently the addon-sdk libraries (js files) are packaged with the addon package. Hopefully, https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2013/02/01/the-add-on-sdk-coming-soon-to-firefox-21/ this should make addon sdk based addons lighter :)

One of 3 most important productivity tools for Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension makes data exchange between computer or laptop and smartphone so easy it's invaluable as a productivity booster in many situations from calling clients, saving bookmarks to moving any documents and files by link to the cell. I don't imagine work without this extension anymore. 10/10

Появилась возможность показывать легко QR код URL-а Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Some bugs Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It generates a to big picture, I need to move backwards with my mobile to scan the complete image.
In some sizes (QR-versions) it generates an image with gray/white lines in between the black blocks. That is not allowed.
Nor is the gray border allowed, It needs to be same colour as the background and it needs to be 4 blocks wide.

And why do I need to chose the QR-version? I want it to chose the smallest version that fits all the data.

Now when the data doesn't fit it displays
"QR Code FAIL! Error: code length overflow. (748>440)"

Thanks for reporting

I've just uploaded v0.7 with these fixed. The addon is still under review though.

You must encrease ... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

You must encrease the quite zone / margin around the code. It should be at least 4 modules.

http://www.qrcode.com/qrgene4-e.html

And you should encrease Version 1-19 to 1-40, ECL H takes a lot space you can't use then and you must use it when you want to put a Logo or Icon on the QR-Code.

And don't waste your time transfering it to other browsers, transfer it to Thunderbird/Lightning instead, contacts and calendar entries need to be transfered into QR-Code too.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6).

Thanks :)

fixed the margin issue in v0.7 (still under review). Other apps (TB, etc) would have to wait :(

Works well Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Worked great. As my main use case is opening a URL on my phone from my computer (e.g. for recipes, etc), it would be great to be able to generate a QR from the address-bar's URL, but for now I can right-click the background of the current page to do so.

Thanks!

[Update after developer response on March 26]:
A toolbar button might be useful, as long as it is small enough to not get in the way. But so far the current setup is working out well. And thanks for the suggestions!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6).

Possible solution??

I don't know of a way to add an item on context menu of right-click, so I guess that might not be possible. But, as another way, would having a toolbar button help your use-case?
BTW, depending upon what phone you carry, do check out readitlater and fox2phone extensions. They are a bit more complicated to use but have direct means for history management of links used.

BTW, thanks for the review :).
(v0.8 has added a toolbar button...it is added to addon bar by default, but you can move to toolbar by clicking customize on toolbar).
