About this extension
Extuno checks the extensions already installed in your browser and tells you which ones are safe and which are worth a second look. Open the toolbar popup and you get a plain verdict for each add-on, with the risky ones pulled to the top.
What it does:
- Checks every installed extension against Extuno's threat database and a catalog of known-malicious add-ons.
- Marks each one clean, suspicious, or malicious, and says why.
- Runs a deep scan of any add-on on demand. Extuno downloads the published package from the store by its id and analyzes it on the server (static checks, a sandboxed run, and a source review). No files from your device are uploaded.
- Re-checks new and updated extensions on its own, so an add-on that turns malicious in a later update does not slip past you.
Protection while you browse (every layer is optional and can be paused):
- Blocks known malicious domains and IP addresses, trackers, and crypto-mining hosts.
- Warns you before a look-alike or phishing page loads.
- Stops dangerous downloads, such as an executable disguised as a document.
- Blocks in-page mining and card-skimming scripts.
Privacy:
- It never reads the files of your other extensions, and never disables or removes them for you.
- It works with an anonymous device id; connecting an Extuno account is optional.
- Page content is checked on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Free to use. Full privacy policy: https://extuno.com/privacy
