About this extension
Threadkeeper is a local provenance workspace for investigations that would otherwise dissolve into an unexplained pile of tabs. Instead of treating every page as an equal bookmark, it asks why the page belongs in the inquiry.
Create a thread around a central question, then add eligible tabs from the current Firefox window as stations. Each station can be classified as a source, hypothesis, counterpoint, action, decision, or dead end and connected to the station that motivated it. Notes capture the reasoning behind the connection. The route map makes branches and decision paths visible while duplicate detection prevents the same normalized address from silently multiplying.
Closing a branch preserves tombstones, so abandoned reasoning remains legible and can be restored. A completed branch can be compressed into a decision while retaining the underlying lineage. Named checkpoints provide local recovery points before major edits. Multiple inquiry threads can live in one workspace. A JSON handoff exports the active reasoning graph while deliberately removing Firefox tab identifiers.
Threadkeeper stores its workspace only in the current Firefox profile. It has no server, account, telemetry, analytics, content script, or host access. It never reads webpage bodies and does not inspect browsing history. The bundled sample route makes the visual grammar and lifecycle operations immediately testable.
