For me this addon completely breaks browser search. If I type a search query into the search bar it just opens a startpage container with no search term in it. If I type the same search into that window it opens another empty startpage container - etc,etc ad infinitum. No more searches possible until I disable the addon. Shame really because I like the idea of it a lot, but it just doesn't work as it should.
Edit. Thank you for the response, I deleted my startpage search and added the official addon that you mentioned and now it seems to work as it should!!
I can't explain that one.
Incidentally both google search and bing search worked normally, startpage search has now been fixed, and ddg search first opens an empty search page but typing the search into the empty page generates the required results.
Sorry it doesn't work as expected for you. It might have something to do with how your Startpage search is configured. Personally I use the official Add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/startpage-privacy-search-engin/) which works without problems for me. Maybe give it a try. If you already use that or it doesn't work regardless, I'd need more information on how you configured TC, Startpage search and a list of other Add-ons which might be interfering. Ideally in a new GitHub Issue (https://github.com/stoically/temporary-containers/issues) - but feel free to edit your review if you prefer.
This useless addon reset Firefox, all my settings, customizations and addon settings wiped out. I had a pop-up from the addon about some error that it needed to do something and restart firefox and after that all my settings were lost.
Sorry to hear that. Please note that Add-ons don't have the power (in terms of API access) to reset your Firefox / other Add-on Settings. So in your case something went wrong on Firefox's side and you might want to report that to bugzilla.mozilla.org instead. The error message is only shown if the Addon is unable to initialize correctly or access the storage, which only happens if Firefox fails somehow. I hope you have a profile backup. Best regards.
Sorry it doesn't meet your needs. Please note that Temporary Containers does not support "Private Tabs" because the needed Firefox APIs are not available to provide that feature - hence there's no mention in the TC description saying you're able to open "Private Tabs". If Firefox implements the needed APIs, I'll look into adding that feature.
One of the must to have addon ever. Automatic mode is perfect just activate it and forget everything else. Only one thing It should add all same domain & subdomain in the same container seems logic for me no ?
The auto mode set it and forget it is a dream! An indispensable add-on to combat all the big tech companies (Facebook, Google, Amazon, etc) that follow you around the web and record huge amount of data about you.
