- Rated 1 out of 5by Alex, 6 months agoI love the extension, it is a must-have to enjoy youtube.
However, it is very broken on mobile right now.
After installing, in fullscreen, the video flips to portrait mode every 20 seconds or so. (Sometimes by itself, sometimes as a reaction to the screen being tapped).
The only way to fix it is to go out of FS or double tap to skip 10 seconds of the video.
It is incredibly annoying and by rating one star my intentions are only for the dev to give the issue the appropriate amount of attention it deserves as I am not the only one who suffers from this problem.
There is an unresolved github thread about it and there are reviews here that mention the same issue.
As soon as it is fixed, I will five it the 5+ starts this amazing extension deserves. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14333858, 6 months agoIt use to work great but since the last update it no longer auto skips ads. I cant even get it to manually skip segments that it claims are already in the database.

Like pause button, 10s forward -rewind, seeker ber
Doesn't work - Rated 1 out of 5by Wuzzle, 6 months agoWould've given this five stars a few years ago but apparently the lead dev is incapable of communicating properly with his moderators and will just remove your mod status without warning and block you before you even get the chance to ask why, forcing you to complain on his public discord server to get an answer out of him
EDIT: Or leave a one star review on his other extension, DeArrow - Rated 1 out of 5by Shaqaruden, 7 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by JoyFlameball, 8 months agoIt's stopped working. It won't skip sponsored sections anymore, or even show them in the progress bar.

posted 8 months agoUnfortunately the server broke while I was away from my computer. Things should be back to normal now :) - Rated 1 out of 5by WayTooBad, 8 months agoWent on their discord server to report errors, it was horrible...

Developer response
posted 9 months agoIt has done that since day one. It does that to allow you to unskip it. You can disable easily by clicking the "never show" button on the notice. - Rated 1 out of 5by bananas! bananas! bananas!, 9 months agoIt used to not be intrusive about what its blocking but now it will just pause the video for a second or two and give you this jarring pop-up about how its totally skipping for realsies.
Developer response
posted 9 months agoI'm not sure what you mean by that. Maybe the issue is it buffering as the skip was long? - Rated 1 out of 5by Shinobi, 10 months agoDoesn't work on this Firefox Browser. It worked great on Opera GX tho. I might have to switch back to Opera GX.
- Rated 1 out of 5by twac2988, 10 months agoDemands you to tediously preview the sponsored segment with no option to disable this. I use quick hotkeys to quickly submit segments without getting in the way of my viewing experience. Now, I have an annoying popup demanding me to test if I did a good enough job. I use the ", and ." keys to make the segments frame perfect, and now, you want to waste my time even more, with the audacity to not even create a setting for this? I guess my volunteer work is over. Goodbye.
Developer response
posted 10 months agoThere is a keybind for previewing exactly for this use-case. Just because you use `,` and `.` doesn't mean there can't be skipping issues. Remember, bad segments mean extra work for people moderating segments.
Goodbye - Rated 1 out of 5by NoonyaBeeznus, a year agoWorks well on YouTube, but breaks videos on other sites - in this case specifically Teachable courses. I'm not sure if it is something about the video player used (hotmart), but it blocks the player from loading in properly and returns a "Something went wrong" text in place of the video.
Issue was solved through Refreshing in Troubleshoot mode, as using regular Troubleshoot mode, uninstalling the add-on, and deleting browser preference data didn't work either.Developer response
posted a year agoThe SponsorBlock extension does not have access to any pages except for YouTube. It cannot possibly modify those pages. Another extension must be causing this. - Rated 1 out of 5by polios, a year ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Haze, a year agoEither I'm stupid or is missing the point. Or both. Same every 1 min youtube commercials destroying any type of previous youtube experience. I thought this add-on would remove just that??
Developer response
posted a year agoYou are missing the point. SponsorBlock is not a traditional ad blocker but for skipping times inside of YouTube videos when the creator themselves promotes a product. It does not skip ads by YouTube. It is meant to be used alongside uBlock Origin - Rated 1 out of 5by ParsaJR, a year ago
