About this extension

SOCKS5 Proxy Toggle adds a single button to your Firefox toolbar that instantly switches between a direct connection and a SOCKS5 proxy at localhost:1080.

Visual feedback:
• Satellite dish icon – proxy is OFF (direct connection)
• Rocket icon – proxy is ON (tunneled through your local proxy)

Important: This extension does not include a proxy or VPN. You must have your own SOCKS5 server running locally (SSH dynamic forwarding, Shadowsocks, V2Ray, Sing‑box, etc.).

Privacy:
No telemetry, no analytics, no ads, no external network requests. The on/off state is stored in your browser’s local storage only.
