About this extension
Turn every news page into a trust-layer.
Noozee is a lightweight browser extension that scores the credibility of any article you read, shows the rating as a subtle badge, and lets you explore higher-quality coverage with a built-in search popup.

🌟 Key Features
What you get How it works
Instant badge As soon as a page loads, Noozee compares the headline against our real-time “TruthGraph” API and displays a score (0–100).
One-click context Click the toolbar icon to open an in-extension popup showing the five most reliable articles on the same topic—ranked by credibility and clustered by angle.
Explainable scoring Behind the scenes, our engine parses causal statements in millions of sources, builds a directed knowledge graph, and runs PageRank-style analytics to compute a transparent “Noozee score.”
Privacy-first We never read your personal data, passwords, or form fields—only each page’s public title/URL is requested, and it’s hashed before leaving your device.
Zero clutter A single 12 kB content script—no heavy ads, no trackers, no slowdowns. Disable the badge with one toggle in the popup.
Open architecture Runs on an open REST API (self-hosted by default); power users can point Noozee at their own TruthGraph server for custom research or corporate monitoring.

🚀 Why Noozee is different
Graph > Checklist
Traditional fact-check plug-ins flag single statements. Noozee maps relationships—causes, effects, and corroborations—across thousands of outlets to catch subtle bias and cherry-picking.

Real-time refresh
Our backend syncs every 30 minutes, so breaking stories are evaluated almost as fast as they appear.

Community-proof future
Coming soon: crowd feedback loops, cryptographic source proofs, and shareable badges that travel with every link you post.

🔒 Permissions Explained
activeTab – Needed to read the page’s title for scoring and to insert the badge.

storage – Saves your on/off preferences locally (never leaves the browser).

host permissions (http://localhost:8000/*) – Default self-hosted API endpoint; change it to our cloud node or your own in Options.

🛠 Getting Started
Install the extension.

Browse any news site—watch the “Noozee score” appear in the top-left corner.

That’s it. Better news habits in under 10 seconds.
