About this extension
MoveChat is an open-source browser extension for saving, exporting, transferring, and continuing AI conversations across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
If you've ever hit a message limit, wanted to compare responses between AI models, or simply wished you could keep a permanent copy of an important conversation, MoveChat makes that easy.
Instead of asking an AI to summarize your chat, copying the response, and pasting it into another model, MoveChat preserves the entire conversation—including messages, syntax-highlighted code blocks, uploaded images, attached files, and formatting—so you can continue exactly where you left off.
✨ Features
• Transfer conversations between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
• Export conversations as Markdown (.md) or PDF.
• Preserve messages, images, code blocks, uploaded files, and conversation formatting.
• Resume conversations in another AI without rebuilding context.
• Optional AI-powered conversation compression using your own AI API key.
• Search and organize previously saved conversations.
• Create portable conversation packages for backup or migration.
• Runs entirely locally on your device.
• Lightweight, fast, and easy to use.
• 100% open source.
🔒 Privacy First
Your conversations stay on your device.
MoveChat processes conversations locally in your browser. No account is required, no conversation data is uploaded to our servers, and there is no analytics or tracking built into the extension.
If you enable AI compression, your own AI API key is stored securely using your browser's local storage and is never sent through our servers.
❤ Open Source
MoveChat is fully open source under the MIT License.
You can inspect the source code, verify how your data is handled, report issues, suggest improvements, or contribute to the project on GitHub.
