- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15944772, 6 months agoCrashes Firefox every night. I love this add on and have been using it for years, but finally isolated the persistent crashes to this specific add-on. I will have to disable it and look for an alternative. Would be five stars if it was stable.

posted 6 months agoHello,
Could you write me email (admin@fastaddons.com) with more details please? I would live to investigate this.
For example, is your PC running all night? And do you have "Auto-reload" enabled in some of your dials? There have been cases when auto-reload would fail if monitor disconnects itself when monitor goes to sleep but PC is still running.
But in any case, addons should not be possible to crash the browser, so sounds interesting.
Please let me know.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14727022, 2 years agoI like it and have used it for a long time (several years); but, it is starting to get too complicated to synch and edit between multiple PCs. I think I may drop it.

Please contact me to my support email.
The synchronization should be fully automatic, just make sure you are logged in the same account and make sure your system PC time is correct.

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by White Diver, 3 years agoOn the 4K monitor only the upper left corner of thumbnail is shown. There is a lot of settings for width, height, scale, resolution - but nothing helps to show thumbnails correctly (i.e. normal picture shrinked to the thumbnail size).
Developer response
posted 3 years agoHello,
Could you send me a screenshot of the problem?
Also, could you reload one of the thumbnails and then go to the main menu (upper right corner) and click Advanced / Send error logs... and then send me the logs on email.
Unless Firefox changed something, it should works fine even on high-resolution screens.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Ландграф71, 3 years agoЕсть несколько недочетов.
There are a few downsides. Firstly, when you turn on the display of signatures for dials and click on the button to expand the list of groups, the signatures overlap the list of groups. Secondly, when exporting settings and speed dials, only those groups that fit on the monitor screen are exported. Well, a trifle, but still, there are not enough site icons. There are not even people like Intel, AMD, Nvidia. On the whole, not bad. Conveniently, exported settings are not encrypted. And just like with FVD, you can lose all your bookmarks. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15271221, 3 years ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by eboyd16, 3 years agoThis addon looks like a good replacement for FVD. Be aware that the only way to get a Pro account is by join his Patreon. It will cost $36 a year for the Pro features. I am cool will giving devs some cash for making something useful. Forced into a monthly sub for more features is going to far. It's your product you do what you want. I will be looking for something different.

posted 3 years agoHello,
I'm preparing a better pricing that won't include Patreon. Hopefully in January after I upgrade my server code.
But until then, I can give you a nice discount if you contact me to my support email.

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14124440, 3 years agoWorks well after a steep learning curve. Only showstopper I found was after meticulously setting it up in Firefox and exporting including thumbnails, it fails to import that file into a fresh install on Chrome. Ideally, this local export should make any browser it's imported into look exactly the same, wallpaper, sizes, and thumbnail pics.
5 stars if this is possible and works, along with adding the ability to globally make "Center (contain)" the default.Developer response
posted 3 years agoHello,
Yeah, the "Center (contain)" should be default for custom images, I will fix this in the upcoming release.
Also, you say import in Chrome failed? That's sounds impossible, it's build from the same source code, it must work :). I will investigate now. And you are right, after the import it will look exactly the same.
If you have a lot of dials and thumbnails, the import may take a while depending on your drive speed (slow SSD can take a whole minute or more to import 40MB backup file).
Could you please write me to my support email what was the size of the exported file? And was there some error written? And did the dials at least partially imported?
Thanks!

Thank you!
- Rated 3 out of 5by Woody100, 4 years agoAfter using this for years there is a problem. The images are not displaying properly and are leaking from an adjacent tile. This seems to be an auto-reload problem as I can reload the image manually as it works fine.

posted 5 years agoHello,
Please contact me to my support email if the problem persist.
But in general this is a Firefox specific error that often disappears after restarting Firefox or whole PC.
If you can see it even after the restart, then I would suggest you to reinstall my add-on. But make sure to export your dials to a file first - from the Options page / Import backup tab (you can export also your thumbnails).

posted 5 years agoHello,
You are not alone. Firefox has some issues recently and users are loosing all add-ons data, not just in my add-on. See for example this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1530660
But there is way to recover it even if you don't have backups. Firefox in version 66 migrated all add-ons data to a new storage and during this process they created a backup file - "storage.js.migrated".
You can use this file to restore your data, see this article:
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/08/03/new-backend-for-storage-local-api/
After you located the file, you can actually directly import that file into my speed dial - just rename it to "xxx.group_speed_dial" and then import.
And lastly, maybe you Firefox just switched profiles. You see, Firefox 67 started to use separate profile for each installation - this is a good thing to prevent some serious issues, however for some users this actually caused "data loss" because their Firefox was suddenly using a new profile. But all you need to do is switch to a correct profile. See this article for more info:

- Rated 3 out of 5by MatsSvensson, 6 years agoNice, but i wish it would just work like the original speed dial.
It keep opening an extra invisible window, how do I turn that off?
And the rules for rendering thumbs makes no sense at all.
Why are there separate settings for how its rendered when its reloaded and 2-3 various other ones that seem to be triggered at random?
Whatever you do to finally get it to look sharp, after a while it always ends up looking like a crap later.Developer response
posted 6 years agoHello,
The thumbnails generation is very complex process now. Sadly the API that was available before for the SpeedDial is not available anymore.
There are three options for generating thumbnails and each of them has some advantages and some disadvantages.
But the best results are from the background reload - which works in the invisible tab. These thumbnails should be sharp.
This method is by default used when you add a new dial (unless you use "Add this page to dial" from context menu on a page).
You can also use reload by visiting page which also yields good thumbnails and it works on any page.
I will try to simplify the options in near future for easier usage...
Also feel free to contact me directly on my support e-mail.
