Firefox Color by Firefox

by quicksite, 3 months agoIt's a pretty darn good tool for people like me who don't know how to create/edit style sheets. The big problem is something I have seen in past on other style tools on other platforms. It would be so much more helpful if you provided a simple numbered MARKUP diagram that shows exactly where within the browser tabs and toolbars each of the adjustable color elements exist. Only about 5 or 6 adjustment tools are super-obvious about where this color will get applied, such as "Active Tab" background color, or color of Icons. But far too many of the elements are very non-obvious to end users who didn't write the Firefox Color tool. YES it's great that some (but only very few) UI elements actually "light up" in the simplified preview element as you make a change. Either do it for all the elements or its huge disservice. ... I should really subtract a 2nd star for the non-obvious way to RE-APPLY your theme when buggy things happen that suddenly strip out the entire theme reverting to default. You show how to SAVE, how to favorite, how to share, but missing a simple actuator to "Re-apply theme".

IMPORTANT and helpful. I have had an unfixable problem with the icons for my addons showing up. Somehow, this addon fixed it! So I'm thrilled that I added it. Even after disabling and restoring my original theme, the problem stayed fixed. It would be really helpful if a developer could check on what this addon changed to fix that problem. I will check my about:config setting it to show only changed values.
I will be using this addon as soon as I have time to read all of the documentation. - Rated 1 out of 5by Rossana, 9 days agoInstalled hoping it would enable changing color of parts of my chosen theme like text or icons, but whatever change you set, just overwrites the theme you chose with the ones from the extension. What's even worst is that the "revert all" button completely removes the theme, while the chosen one still shows as "enabled", so you have to first disable it enad then enable it again.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Yves Signer, a month agoWould love to use it more but why there is a ridiculous 5MB limit on locally saved themes. Is this a bug? limit on saved themes on local storage? Makes no sense..... deleting themes to free up space doesn't free up space. Themes disappear spontaneously. Export and no import of themes. Installing imported themes not possible - Firefox reports file as being corrupt. Still a much needed simple extension all things considered, please fix it.
