- Rated 5 out of 5by pt, 3 hours agoTo those with v4.9.97 breaking Firefox: Just realized that the Developer's note applies to Settings on DarkReader, not Firefox. Go to the DR icon on the top of your window and choose "MORE". It is to the right of "Filter". Then choose "Default" below.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16255010, 4 hours agoIt was relatively good until today, when it was automatically updated, and now I cannot see the bookmarks in the bookmarks sidebar, nor the menu bar. All is just black, except for the icons for the bookmarks in the sidebar. It became useless. And your answer to Tikitaki makes no sense, as there is no "custom browser theme" option to be disabled in the "General" settings. Try to give an answer for Firefox specifically, not for Chrome, which is what you probably did.

posted 4 hours agoPlease disable "Custom browser theme" option (More > Default or Settings > General > Custom browser theme). - Rated 1 out of 5by Evan, a day agoThis extension used to be amazing. Now, it completely breaks Firefox and Firefox even tells me that the extension is slowing down my browser. It makes websites completely unusable. Please fix this. I loved this extension when it worked properly.

posted 4 hours agoThe problem (slowdown in Reddit.com) was fixed in version 4.9.97. We have also added more performance optimizations. - Rated 1 out of 5by robomatic, a day agoSomething's broken with this addon, it used to work perfectly, now it's slowing down Firefox.
Please fix! - Rated 1 out of 5by anon44449999, 2 days agoused for a long time, has had performance issues over its lifespan but for ~month or so the performance is horrendous. causes most big-name websites (reddit, youtube, google) to completely seize up and load extremely slow, currently making this add-on completely unusable. i will edit the review if this gets fixed but currently this just straight up breaks your browser
- Rated 3 out of 5by kawazuchi, 2 days agoIn terms of aesthetics, the best dark mode add-on. But it slows down the browser very much, so use with caution.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18722527, 2 days agoGood... almost. For instance, it doesn't work in this very page page at addons.mozilla.org
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18726046, 3 days agoSlows Firefox to a complete stall. Can't use it anymore. Shame.
- Rated 1 out of 5by sjuul, 3 days agoWebsites load slower than far too slow. And after updates performance seems to even get worse over time instead of better. This add-on is 110% unusable.
- Rated 1 out of 5by 7ekken, 3 days agoCAN YOU PLEASE ADDRESS THE POOR PERFORMANCE THAT HAS RECENTLY STARTED FOR THE LOVE OF GOD READ YOUR REVIEWS
- Rated 3 out of 5by Biotic, 3 days agoWas pretty good up until recently where it started causing FF performance to tank.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Muppet, 3 days agoSlows down websites where dark mode is already enabled, detects darkmode enables it anyway on top of dark mode causing memory leaks to.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18724362, 4 days agoGave them benefit of the doubt for the past month, but still no fix in sight for the massive performance issues on sites like Reddit & YT, none of the filtering methods work to stop the extension from using up to 32gb of ram suddenly.
Stuck using it since there's no real good alternative. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 11099038, 4 days agoSeriously, fuck Dark Reader at this point.
I know there's ton of work put into this and all of it is free (allegedly, I haven't reviewed the GitHub repo for fishy stuff), but it often breaks, it slows down FF to a crawl (even with bonkers hardware), there's no finer tuning for websites... Something need to be done to make it more viable (and it certainly won't be me as I'm only an asshole whining about it).
Also, fuck Google and Apple, that's a freebie. Thank a lot.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18005979, 6 days agoslows down reddit and there inst an option to disable it on specific websites.
- Rated 1 out of 5by zeila, 6 days agothis extension is causing websites to not load properly in firefox (reddit. i will be using a different dark reader till it gets fixed
- Rated 1 out of 5by Benny, 7 days agoThere was a recent update or something because this Add-on is making my Firefox super slow. I feel like for some reason there seems to be a memory leak because Firefox is using soo much RAM when Dark Reader is enabled. Task manager is telling me my RAM, 16GB, is almost maxed with only firefox and a couple tabs. There has to be a bug or something, I get a popup from Firefox asking me if I want to disable the addon because it is making the browser super slow. I have to disable it until this gets fixed. I love it when it works, but not right now
