by BlohoJo, 4 years agoBlocking channel names with simple names will block all channels with that name as part of the channel name (example: blocking a channel called "Cars" will also block "Fast Cars", "Bad Cars, etc.). Solution is to block by channel ID. But the plugin has no place or way to enter notes for channel ID's. If you block 50 channels, how are you going to remember what all 50 channels are by their ID hash, which is only what BlockTube will show? Solution would be to have a notes option for each channel ID, or even a way for the plugin to fetch the name of the channel at the time of blocking. So there's no solution for this right now other than to keep notes in a separate text file. Not ideal.

You just get a 400 error back! Also, the instructions and description are very half-hearted and minimal. How, for example, do you enter a channel name? With @ in front, or without? It would be a nice tool if it were better thought out.

- Rated 5 out of 5by hubakon1368, a month agoPlaylists from channels I've blocked are still appearing while searching videos. Also, the "Block Channel" option isn't available when clicking the three-dot menu on comments. Clicking on the link of a blocked video still plays the video even when direct access blocking is on.

But now I'm left wanting premade/community blocklists, too :p - Rated 4 out of 5by Azarilh, a month agoI wish i could block music videos based on the lyrics. I can't find an addon for that. :/

- Rated 1 out of 5by HuntressCody, 3 months agoThis add-on has deteriorated to the point it just flat-out does not work anymore. What a shame, since this was one of the best add-ons for making YouTube bearable.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Jay, 3 months agoWorked perfectly until it didn't. Has been broken now for many weeks, last code change was eight months ago in December 2024. No communication from devs since then. Project seems to be abandoned.
