Stop mindless scrolling. A free distraction manager.

About this extension
two sec helps you stop mindless scrolling by adding a moment of intentional breathing before distracting websites load. Take a deep breath, type a random string, or sit in stillness — you choose. Track your progress with detailed stats, block sites on a schedule, and rewire your dopamine-driven habits. Free. Open source. No data collection.
Features
Interventions that pause the impulse
A breathing animation (or typing challenge) appears before configured sites. The pause is short — 3 to 60 seconds — but it's enough to break the autopilot loop. Six breathing patterns rotate randomly, paired with a fresh motivational phrase each time.
Three intervention types
- Basic Breath — Animated breathing circle with stats and a motivational quote
- Minimal Breathing — Just the circle, just the breath
- Type Random Text — A random string you must type correctly to proceed
Re-intervention for doomscrolling
After you continue to a site, a reminder check-in appears after a set interval. "Do you still need this?" It keeps asking — because that's how habits break.
Block sites on your terms
Create one-time block sessions or recurring weekly schedules with a visual time-grid picker. Strict mode prevents early exit. Pause and resume blocks as needed.
Statistics that show progress
Every attempt — continued or resisted — is recorded. See per-site trends, 24-hour summaries, annualized projections, and total time saved (estimated at 3 minutes per prevented visit).
Intentional switching
After bypassing an intervention, choose whether the site stays open for one more navigation or a set duration before a new intervention triggers. Or close the tab entirely when you choose not to continue.
Clean, dark/light design
Purple-accented card-based layout. Automatically adapts to your system theme. Dashboard, popup, and onboarding wizard included.
No accounts. No cloud. Everything is stored locally on your device.
