About this extension
TabJump is for people who work with many tabs open. Assign keyboard shortcuts to the tabs you need right now, jump to them instantly, and reassign those shortcuts as your working set changes.

TabJump also works well with the Tree Style Tab Add-on by showing optional jump-key badges in the vertical tab sidebar.

Is this you?
“I'm working with 37 tabs open, jumping between a GitHub issue, documentation, a ChatGPT thread, a bug report, and a local test page. I need a fast way to jump between them right now.”

If so, TabJump is what you're looking for.

What TabJump lets you do:
  • Assign shortcut keys to currently open tabs.
  • Jump directly to assigned tabs without cycling through your tab bar.
  • Reassign tab shortcuts as your working set changes.
  • Keep your hands on the keyboard when moving between important tabs.

What TabJump is NOT:
  • It is not a bookmark shortcut tool.
  • It is not a tab search tool.
  • It is not a last-tab toggle.
  • It is not a generic tab manager.

For bugs, feature requests, or usage questions, please open an issue on the project support page. You can also contact me by email for support-related questions.

PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS

TabJump stores your tab-assignment data locally in your browser and does not transmit it anywhere.

TabJump does not make network requests, use analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, sync services, remote configuration, or external APIs, or send tab data to any server. TabJump does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or handle user data outside of the add-on or the local browser.

Permissions are limited to only what TabJump needs in order to function:

tabs - Needed to read open-tab information, including tab IDs, titles, URLs, and window IDs, so TabJump can assign shortcuts to open tabs and jump back to them.
storage - Needed to store slot assignments and user settings locally in the browser.
menus - Needed to provide TabJump actions in Firefox context menus.
notifications - Optionally used only to show desktop notifications when tab assignments change, if notification feedback is enabled.
