Tab Session Manager by sienori

by Firefox user 14567586, 7 years agoI've only used this for a few weeks but I feel like this add-on has changed the way I browse already. It's wonderful to save sessions for different purposes, like one session of looking at Emulation websites, one session for seeing sites about a certain game/show or another session for my work/email. No longer do I have to keep one of each around to switch to a different kind of browsing and have the associated memory usage. I can open my browser to a single new tab and use session manager to find the session I want to use. I give it 4 instead of 5 due to a IndexDB issue which thankfully solved itself upon browser reboot, it hasn't popped up again but it does pose a reliability issue for the add-on.
Highly recommended, should be a feature for stock browsers in the future IMO.

The easy access to auto session backups also golden. Together with Winger extension to stash windows, finally an upgraded browse experience which works nice and safe for 1000's of tabs over a 100 windows ; ))

- Rated 4 out of 5by curiosity, 7 days agoWhile it's come a long way since its inception (I switched to this after a feature-rich and reliable session manager that I used was discontinued after Firefox's engine overhaul), it still seems to act up sometimes with too many tabs open.

- Rated 1 out of 5by aedgsegsfvw, 18 days agoWARNING!!!!! If you have more than 10 tabs open, this will overload the extension. As a self-defence mechanism, the extension deletes the saved session.
It cannot import a saved session containing more than 10 tabs. - Rated 5 out of 5by senoa, a month ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Harry Btor, a month agoIn the case of tab groups, this add-on does not preserve original tabs grouping while importing a session: it imports all tabs uniformly, i.e. without any tab grouping. Dear developers, please, correct this fault. P.S. Yet pinned non-grouped tabs are imported correctly (as pinned).

- Rated 1 out of 5by Lebelon91, 2 months agoWorked great for a long time, but in the last month or so, the "autosave sessions" feature hasn't worked at all. I've checked my sessions to try to find windows/tabs I wanted to go back to, and the last thing saved was over a month ago even though I know I had Firefox at least set to restore previous windows. But this extension didn't save ANYTHING over the last month+ even though I had it set to do so, so that feature doesn't do anything anymore apparently. I've lost dozens of sessions due to either a bug or recent updates, but either way this is bullshit.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Painexotic, 3 months agoGarbage. Stopped working months ago. Literally never saves tabs. Don't waste your time. It also randomly deletes your sessions. Don't be tricked by the good reviews btw. They're old reviews from years ago when it actually worked.

- Rated 2 out of 5by dankini, 3 months agoMisiing the main feature I was looking for - namely support for FF's tab groups. It seems the Chrome version has it. Please add functionality for FF.
