About this extension
OpenSight brings real-time color vision correction directly to your browser. If you have color vision deficiency (CVD) — whether protanomaly (red-weak), deuteranomaly
(green-weak), or tritanomaly (blue-weak) — OpenSight adjusts the colors on every webpage so you can see them more clearly.
How it works:
- Take a quick online color vision test, or manually enter your CVD type and severity
- OpenSight computes a personalized color correction matrix based on advanced IPT color space algorithms
- The correction is applied instantly to every webpage you visit using a lightweight SVG filter — no performance impact
Key features:
- Personalized correction based on your specific type and severity of color vision deficiency
- Adjustable correction strength — find the level that works best for you
- Per-site toggle — disable correction on specific websites if needed
- Built-in preview page with Ishihara plates and color spectrum comparisons
- Keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+O) to quickly toggle correction on and off
- Cross-device sync — your settings follow you across browsers
- Works on every website, applied at the browser level before the page loads
- Lightweight and privacy-respecting — no data collection, no ads, no tracking
Who is it for?
Approximately 300 million people worldwide live with some form of color vision deficiency. OpenSight is built for all of them — whether you struggle to distinguish reds
from greens, or blues from yellows, this extension helps make the web more accessible.
