- Rated 4 out of 5by RichardJT, a month agoI've been looking for a pop-up word definer ever since seeing an example on MS Edge. It's great no longer having to use "Search in Google" to find a word def and messily opening a new tab.i gave it only 4 stars bc there's always room for improvement in everything. One change I would make is not having to use 2 mouse clicks to get a def (right click on a highlighted word then left click on the "Define" entry): I would make it so clicking the add-on icon in the toolbar when a word is highlighted opens the pop-up window with the word defined. It already opens the pop-up so I don't see the issue. Thanks and Cheers, r
- Rated 4 out of 5by Vikrant, 4 months agoThis is a perfect pop-up dictionary add-on and I have been searching for such kind of stuff from past two weeks.
Although as an improvement I would like it to have a "SAVE WORD" button to look up the list later on. It will help improve my vocabulary as well.
I will not forget to rate it five star if that as well is implemented. Although I have to admit that at this point of time as well it is a piece of art. - Rated 4 out of 5by Corey, 6 months agoThis would be perfect If I could add more than one custom dictionary.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Pi Lo, a year agoSo far really good. When needing a quick definition, I would often have to open a tab for a specific website. I can get that from Definer.
One main issue is that you can use either the dictionary OR the translator, not both at the same time.
As a non-English speaker, I'd rather search for the English definition AND get the translation in my mother tongue if needed.
Please, add a tab to access the translation from a definition, and conversely.
Maybe also add links to the thesaurus?
I do like the custom source feature with dynamic fields! I was able to easily add the Meriam Webster dictionary or Thesaurus. If we could create several custom sources (with different custom icons), that would be great. I could expand on the capabilities of a great tool! - Rated 4 out of 5by Shelby, 2 years agoI love this extension, it's extremely useful. Eventually adding multiple custom dictionary sources would be really cool.
Edit: Not really sure, but it breaks inkblot.art and most review pages on online shops. I have to disable it from the addon manager to get them to work - Rated 4 out of 5by 3picPerson, 2 years agoThere needs to be an option to change the size of the popup when you click the extension icon. It is currently way too big and blocks out a lot of the screen. A size closer to the Google Dictionary extension on Chrome would be much better. There should also be an option to disable automatic searching when you're typing. I can press the enter key myself. Adding synonyms would also be useful.
