About this extension
Exify is an EXIF viewer for desktop browsers.
It shows camera info and settings on image hover and also allows to search the full metadata via the right-click menu.
How Exify works?
- Exify is triggered when hovering over images with at least 500px on the long side.
- If EXIF metadata exists in the image, a curated subset of it will be shown in an overlay.
- Right-clicking an image and choosing "Show EXIF" will show the full set of EXIF properties. This works for images of any size.
Supported formats
EXIF, IPTC, XMP.
Settings
The settings dialog allows to customize the overlay content and appearance, and toggle it on/off for specific sites.
It also shows the image histogram.
Limitations
Exify can only show the metadata that is embedded in the image.
Availability of such data is at the discretion of the respective website operators, image hosting services and persons uploading the images.
Privacy
Exify doesn't collect any data or usage statistics.
Permissions
Being an extension that detects image interactions, reads image data and renders visual components, Exify requires access to the web page content to function.
This triggers the "Access your data for all websites" permission warning after installation, which is common for this type of extension.
