About this extension

CiteGrab reads the page you're viewing and instantly builds a properly formatted citation — in-text and full reference — in the style you need.

Supported styles: APA (7th ed.), MLA (9th ed.), Harvard, Chicago (Author-Date), IEEE, Vancouver, and OSCOLA.

How it works: CiteGrab reads metadata already present in the page's own HTML (meta tags, JSON-LD, citation_* tags) only while the popup is open, on the tab you're actively viewing. It works entirely offline by default — nothing is sent anywhere. An optional one-click DOI lookup can pull full metadata from Crossref's public API when a DOI is available, but only if you choose to use it.

Save citation projects, switch between light and dark theme, and copy or download your full reference list with one click.

No accounts, no tracking, no background activity — CiteGrab only runs when you open it.
