Add-ons I've created
Sharepoint Administrator's Toolbar Requires Restart
A Toolbar for aiding Sharepoint Administrators by putting the most common navigational commands at the point of their mouse. Supports navigation in both regular firefox tabs as well as IEtab2 and IEtab+. It works for Sharepoint 2007 and 2010.
PasteHyperlink Requires Restart
Paste the clipboard contents into the selected text as a hyperlink.
It works as advertised! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This does just what I wanted: it toggles the dom.event.contextmenu.enabled setting and nothing more. I use this to enable the firefox context menu for links in Sharepoint Online so I can copy the link address. SPO doesn't have an option in its context menu to allow you to copy the url. Firefox has a built in setting for it, and this button lets you toggle it. Thanks you very much, Mr. Developer!
Wonderfully Useful! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
A long time ago I used to use an addon called qfb-pivot, which would pivot the quickfilter on the context of the selected message. QuickFilterPlus is the closest I've ever found, but it makes the quickfilter bar very useful. I use it in conjunction with Quick Filter Toolbar and move all the controls onto a regular toolbar. Works wonderfully. I would give it five stars, but there are a few quirks that keep it from being absolutely perfect.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I love this addon! I use it every day for every message! This addon is well thought out and versatile.
I wrote a tutorial on Stack Overflow about how to embed images in email - and you can use this method easily with QuickText: http://stackoverflow.com/a/18008898/1038866
Also, change the encoding of your QuickText quicktext\templates.xml file in your profil folder will fix the problem with the configuration not showing in Thunderbird 38.01. There are directions in one of the reviews previous to mine.
Wonderful Addon! Version 5 works in TB 38! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Thank you so much for this addon!
To the last few posters who gave poor ratings - your rating of 1 or 2 stars is unfair. Version 4 stated it was only good for thunderbird 10-31 - not for 38. The authour has made version 5 (you can get it in "other versions" below: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/text-link/versions/5.0.2015060501) which does work for thunderbird 38.
I use this every day and can't live without it! I gave it 4 stars, but if I could single-click the urls, and the urls were styled somehow (underlines and blue would be nice) then I'd give 5 stars.
Excellent Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I have multiple monitors and so I use vertical taskbars to make it easy to get to the controls. Vertical tabs adds to the "theme". I can see the entire caption of each tab and can see more tabs on the screen at once. It works very well. If I had a wish, it would be for a few more tab themes and for a way to colour/highlight individually chosen tabs. Thank you! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.14.2014051101.1-signed). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Works Great in TB 24 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This works just fine! Does just what you want! I like to have my sent messages kept in the same place as my outgoing messages, and this addon allows the filters to work as you would expect. Now I can keep everything filtered properly. Thank you!
Good - Almost There... Rated 4 out of 5 stars
My favourite icons are all the Qute/Cute type, and I have been preferring to use Firefox 28 just so I could keep Qute 4++. So when I saw Qute 5 and 6 ++ I tried them both with Firefox 31 and 33, but I lose all the "Large Icons" in the navigation bar. Also, the menu bar does not take on the control colour like it used to - instead it takes on the system blue (Windows 7). Also, the Stop/Refresh button is not separate anymore - it becomes integrated with the URL bar, which I don't like. So I went back to FF 28 with Qute4++. If you ever resolve the large icon problem and the menu bar colour, I'll upgrade.
[edit after Mr. MagicP responded]
Sorry to make all this noise here, but you don't provide a way to contact you other than through this review method. Okay, so I tried the Classic Theme Restorer, and that *does* help, and your theme does have the large icons in it just like you said. So I raised my rating to 4 stars, mainly for resurrecting the theme!
In the older versions of Qute, however, those themes also set the background colour of the menu bar to be the same as the background colour of the regular toolbars, whilst in your new versions it just gets Windows' colour (Windows 7 in my case). I miss that alot. I also wish your theme would change the colour of the window background in the AddOns and Customization window. Right now the colour is the default Firefox 33's kind of blue with light diamond pattern and I don't like it at all. Could you fix these, too?
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Whoa! I've been dreaming to have the time to make this myself! I don't know why Thunderbird didn't do this in the first place. Thanks for doing this! If you provided a way to allow users to customize the colours and customize which buttons they wanted, I'd give you all 5 stars. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
Hoo hoo hoo! Yahoo! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Awesome! And it's restartless to boot! This is nice. You just right-click on the star (or with the Qute 4 theme, it's a heart) and then click on the folder to stick the bookmark in it! It is easy and intuitive - Just right! Thank you very much. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).
It Works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thank you very much for this! I always hated my toolbars disappearing when I opened the addons page. This addon fixes that completely. (Windows 7 pro x64) I have three firefox profiles that I use simultaneously, and I installed this addon in all three as soon as I saw it in the firefox "new" RSS feeds. Thank you Mike Kaply!
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Well! I tried this addon in hopes that it would replace the former "QuickDrag" which no longer downloads images since Firefox 18. This one, however, does, indeed download images. However, I can't recommend it because it's search function only works for Google (I use DuckDuckGo) and Google in Chinese or Japanese or something! Neither are there any options. If this addon used the default search provider (that I chose), then I would give it a better rating.
Great, but a few requests Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I already gave my rating as 5-star, and I still mean that... A few requests, however (no contact info in the home page): A button to toggle the tabs panel on and off. Option to dock the tab panel inside the sidebar. More themes. Thank you! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.14.2012081101.1-signed). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is excellent! I tried several other vertical tab addons, and this is the only one that lets me resize the width of the tab list panel! It has the option to create a tree from tabs - that way, if you open a link from a certain tab, its link goes into that tab's subtree. Great! This helps me keep organized. With a widescreen monitor, you get your vertical space back in your window. Thank you! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.14.2012081101.1-signed).
Wonderfully Helpful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I use this addon when I reply to folks and need to point out to them something important, either in my own message, or in a message quotation. This is fast and effective. Thank you!
I Use It Every Day Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It does exactly what is promised! I use it every day. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5).
An Aide to Technical Support Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is a very useful addon if you are a web administrator of any sort. You can easily see what email client the user is sending mail with, and quickly deduce what OS they are using. With this information, you can more easily assess their situation if they need technical assistance. I love this addon because it helps me immensely. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.8).
This is a Must-Have! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This functionality should be built into Thunderbird without requiring an addon. Thank you very much 46emak for supplying it for us! You have done us a real service!
Stupendous! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is stupendous! I always wanted this! This is for version 2.02. Just FYI for y'all - this only changes the subject of the message in the main message pane. If you look at the subject in the header bar of the message, it is unchanged - which is good, because it reflects to you what the sender named it. However, there should be an option to perform this step as well. Also, in an english-reading browser, the "about addon" link in the addons window links to the french not the english - this should be fixed. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).
Research and Productivity Enhancer Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Scrapbook Plus is one of my most favourite addons - indeed, I have used it now for three or four years.
If you have read the description of this addon, you will see that it is like a real scrapbook - you paste into it bits and pieces of anything you find so that you can return to it later. This addon does just that. You save bits and pieces of the web - onto your own computer - so that even if the web page goes away, you still have your scraps saved up, and can reference them any time.
A feature that makes it even more invaluable is this: not only can you save a static version of the web-page, but you can EDIT the page, remove parts you don't like, as well as add notes and highlights, too. This is invaluable if you are doing some intensive study. And if you have several "scraps", you can easily combine them into one. If you know html, you can even edit the html yourself in a text editor and do whatever you want with your scraps.
Another great feature that I put to use is the ability to have multiple scrapbooks - one for this topic, one for that topic.
Scapbook is one of the addons that I cannnot live without.
Before I leave off with my review, I want to relate another context where this addon has really made a difference for me. At one time I could not have internet access at my desk, but had to go to a common computer room for online research. I browsed the net and captured the things I wanted into Scrapbook (using Firefox Portable!) and then came back to my offline desk and dealt with what I found. This addon made such a difference - I spent a small amount of time online getting information, and the rest of the time studying and highlighting my notes.
Thank you, haselnuss!
Greatly Improves Workflow! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This addon has improved my workflow dramatically. There are three things I do the most on a web-page that I visit: 1) Open links in a new tab; 2) Search for terms I have found in the text, and 3) Download Images.
With Quickdrag, I can do all three things just by dragging ANY link or text I find. I don't even have to drag it very far - just a bump is all that is needed.
Another way QuickDrag has helped me is this: I have always found it difficult to use the mouse wheel as a middle-click button (it makes the mouse move whilst I do it, and I don't like that). Now I don't need the middle-mouse click. Just a bump-drag, and its done.
Honestly, I have become so accustomed to using QuickDrag (over the last year) that when I switch browsers (gasp!) or use another person's computer, I find myself working the QuickDrag action over and over to no avail! So what do I do? I install it wherever I can.
Just so you know, for the sake of my review, I have no relation to the authour at all. I am a user like everyone else, but I'll say that I AM one of those folks who soup up their Firefox until it is a monster that will do nearly anything. QuickDrag will always be part of my arsenal.
Thank you, Stevie Smith!
