I don't want a standalone .exe Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Programm installs an standalone exe file, instead of using the browser itself. This is not a addon, this is a plague

STILL installs executable files without warning or permission Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The previous reviewer is either a paid shill or has not noticed fireshot.exe being installed without permission.

This behavior is AGAINST Mozilla's own addon policy and it's beyond me why this plugin has not been removed yet.

FireShot does what it claims, and does it well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The intuitive features work as expected without requiring a lot of trial-and-error to figure out how to use it.

In addition, it stays up to date and compatible with Firefox, Thunderbird and, dare I say, Chrome. With an eye for unexpected or unwanted behavior, I have seen neither over several years. People complaining about unwanted installations should RTFM and not click stuff just because it says "click me".

This add-on is a trusted standard.

excellent screenshots Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been use it since installation everyday. It's very good to use. If adding OCR features, that would be great.

immediately opens a pdf :( Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Since the latest Version the "print screen / Druck" Button works different. It doesn't put the screen into the "clipboard / Zwischenablage" but into a separate window of FIRESHOT where I cannot copy and paste it for example into a WORD document. Can anybody tell me how to deactivate that? I want my old function of the "print Screen /Druck" button back!!! And I found no option to adjust that :((

Installs itself to Desktop without permission Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I used this add-on for two years. I decided to remove it because it pops up on the desktop. I never meant anything I installed in a browser to show up on the desktop. This is very intrusive. I won't use it from now on.

Installs "Fireshot for Desktop" without me knowing Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Used the addon for years, but now it installed some "Fireshot for Desktop" without asking and that's a no-go. I am uninstalling this addon until they remove that crap.

Force you to upgrade to pro Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It use to be the best screencap apps that you can use for free, but then it force you to upgrade to Pro. You can't use it at all if you don't upgrade to pro.
So, bye.

forcing users to install desktop app, like a trojan Rated 1 out of 5 stars

used to be the best (still is), but avoid as this one installs app to your system and can intercept your personal data.

Locks Port 80 since last update Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I agree with Ceten comment.. since last update fireshot installs a desktop version without having the permission to nor having the possibility to disable it. Additionally it locks port 80 on my machine without having the permission to nor have asked it nor the possibility to disable or set it to another port. I remove it for now. If you fix this issue it will be a great tool, I used it for a long time but this is really a no-go !!

Parasite program coming with the extension Rated 1 out of 5 stars

What a strange idea to add to this very good extension a standalone application for desktop screenshots.

If this would come with a Yes/No installation option, it could be acceptable even if it's not at all a regular step to launch a Windows application from a browser extension.

But here, no choice, it has to be killed manually each time Firefox starts. It could very well be suspected to be a trojan or spy program.

Anyway, as I'm very suspicious with this approach and don't want this useless mandatory Fireshot for Desktop program (I have already better tools) , I remove Fireshot extension and replace it by another one (e.g. "Print Edit").

Installs Desktop Application Without Prompting Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Fireshot for Desktop was installed without my permission. :(

Automatically installs a desktop application! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Used to be a great add-on but since the last update this automatically installs a desktop application that always starts with Firefox and cannot be disabled. I never gave permission for this and browser add-ons should not be allow to start applications outside of the browser.

Uninstalled latest release because... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I installed this and used it a few times. Liked how it worked and it came in handy for capturing web pages where other screen capture software failed (web pages that don't fit on the screen and you need to scroll to see). So this was a great addition.

But a recent update launches a desktop exe that hijacks keys that I use in other software. This desktop software I did not ask for, was not offered an option to install it, and I cannot find a way to disable it. It launches when I launch Firefox. I have to exit the software each time. I'd rather not.

I'm wondering about security with Firefox as I thought things that that happen in the browser stay in the browser, and Firefox was focused on security in the browser. But what about this add-on launching other applications that run outside the browser? How does this work? Is it secure?
