Great little addon, but far more responsive on Firefox using Windows 7. Still some freezing issues on Windows XP. Version 7.5.3 is not compatible with Firefox 9.0.1, which is a shame. I do hope you will continue with this addon as things seem to be quiet on the development front.

I have the similar problem, and i must agree with Álvaro G. Vicario. I have mentioned this issue in past reviews, but the developer said 'maybe i am using the settings in correctly'! Yes, the latest Memory Fox add-on is much improved. But, if you leave Firefox idle for a while, upon restarting you are met with a white screen and within a few seconds things return to normal. I have played around with the settings, but it makes no difference. I am running 2 laptops, one with xp and my newest one with Windows 7 Ultimate. Firefox with memory fox on my Windows 7 is far more responsive, and the freeze only happens for seconds. But on my XP, it's freezes for ages forcing me to close Firefox and restart.And, i had to remove from it from XP, and the problems instantly goes away. But, on my Windows 7 i still have it installed, and it does truly speed up a sluggish Firefox and reduces memory usage greatly.
Now IDEVFH, i am not being critical, and i am certainly not using any foul language, just stating fact. So, there is absolutely no need for this review to be removed at all! I genuinely now like this add-on on my Windows 7. But this issue of freezing was far worse in the past, and is getting better. But, the problem is still there, be it only for a few seconds on Windows 7 if you leave your computer unattended. But, if you are constantly using your computer, you will never notice this issue.
P.S. I have also tried disabling all my other 22 add-ons, with Memory Fox being the sole add-on running. But this mentioned issue still occurred.

This has to be the best ever Memory Fox to date!! (And i've used them all) I have had some serious problems in the past with older versions (Which the Developer didn't fully believe or accept! lol) Past versions caused Firefox to totally freeze if you left the browser unattended for a while. Also, the memory usage would creep back up after 10 minutes of constant use. And these issues weren't resolved even when toggling with the option settings. But, that is the past and the mentioned issues have been resolved!! Firefox 4 consumes huge amounts of memory!! And this issue is getting worse with every new version!!! 200,000k plus on many occasions!! Now, with this very latest Memory Fox 7.3, i am averaging 60,000k. Also, the final test was....i left my computer for 15 minutes and was able to use Firefox instantly, no freezing, no white screen, no having to close the browser and instant response!! I have left the settings on default, and use it only on the browser, not all processes. This suits me best, but you can toggle it to your own needs. Thanks again, and thanks for the huge improvements!

JUST A STORM IN A TEA CUP !!
I have used this add-on for ages and i think it's excellent. I never have to receive my Microsoft updates via IE8 again, i just use my Firefox browser with this great add-on installed. As i said before, you can get the very latest version from the developers website minus WindowShopper plugin. The latest release is v1.96.20101021 (Clean version, NO Window Shopper plugin) available at: http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html If there were no other options, then i would understand the fuss.

This is a great little add-on, and it's still compatible with Firefox. I am using the latest version of Firefox 3.6.10, and it works well. Funnily enough, this morning it just notified me of the Flashblock update version 1.5.14, which by the way is another great little add-on! But, with Firefox version 4 just around the corner, then this little gem will certainly not work unless updated.

Great add-on, really does speed up Firefox....But, still can't get the page load timer to work! Tried everything! Any suggestions? Previous version had the same problem, but the problem was resolved with version 4.1 beta....but you advised us to remove due to certain problems

Works fine on my Firefox, and I'm using the latest version 3.6.6 To be honest i came across it by accident, and wanted to try it out. Well, I am more than happy with it, a nice little add-on! I set it to block Global Cookies, and adjust it according to certain sites. Now, an open question for you all. How come my browser is running much faster with this add-on installed? 2 to 3 seconds faster on some sites! Not complaining, well pleased....but how come? Do hope Ron Beckman continues developing this little gem! Thank you so much!

As i said before, version 3.1 and now this version 3.2 are not working that well, they do not lower your memory usage! With 2 tabs open Firefox was running at exactly at 166,368k !! Eventually after 5 minutes it came down to 105,000k. My Firefox has NEVER run so high! I am now uninstalling this latest version 3.2, as it's even worse than version 3.1! I will return to AFOM - Memory Recovery & Retention For Firefox Only version 2.0, which is far better at reducing memory within Firefox. With this installed, my browser runs at an average of 60,000k.
And on a final note, PLEASE STOP REMOVING NEGATIVE COMMENTS !! I never slander the developers, so users should get to read all the negative and positive reviews! Not just the ones hand picked by you! So be fair, and play the game please!!

This is a great little add-on which really does reduce your memory usage drastically. And if your are using Firefox, i guarantee your memory usage is sky high. So give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Now a question for you; i have been using AFOM - Memory Recovery & Retention 2.0 , and just installed this version Memory Fox 3. Which is better????? Both were developed by the same person.

What an amazing easy to use add-on!! I wish i had come across this ages ago, a real life saver! But don't forget it only works alongside Adblock Plus, and won't work alone. Gets rid of all those annoying text ads.

I too was suffering with the problem of Firefox going offline if left idle for a while. This great little add-on resolves this problem. IE Sux Mega mentioned you can disable "network.manage-offline-status" by setting it to false, and this would disable automatic offline mode functionality. Now, i am running the latest version of Firefox 3.6.3 , and that function doesn't exist within about:config. So, please explain IE Sux Mega. I have also tried the add-on 'Disable Automatic Offline Management 1.2', and it works just as well as StayInOnlineMode 1.1. So, you can use either, both giving you the same end result.

This is a great little add-on which i really love. Silent and very useful! You can do a manual check when you want, or get your automatic notifications. Jatin, the sliding notification in the far right hand corner is working fine with me. And, if you miss it you can see from the red arrow that you have an update ready to be installed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Todd Long for this useful and wonderful little add-on! 'Live long and prosper!'

**Important point** Before you uninstall Fasterfox, ensure you restore your settings to default (within Fasterfox Presets) before you actually uninstall. And every time you change any of the settings within the Fasterfox custom settings, you should clear your cache. If you follow these steps you shouldn't have any problems. This applies to all the Fasterfoxes, as things can get messed up if you don't return to default first before uninstall.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update for Firefox 3.6. OK, i have forced it to work using Nightly Tester Tools, but it doesn't work properly. Please don't let this add-on go by the wayside!!!

A real great add-on, a must have. But it's not compatible with the latest Firefox 3.6 RC1 ! Unless of course you force it to work using Nightly Tester Tools. Please update for the latest version!

This is a great add-on, i must have if you're fed up with Firefox going off line when left idle for a while. I am using the latest version 1.1 from your website. But, it's not compatible with the latest version of Firefox 3.6. Please update, as would be so grateful. OK, i can force it to work using Nightly Tester Tools, but it's not advisable on several add-ons at once.
