does not support sort by creation date Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
I was looking for sorting folders and subfolders within a folder to sort by creation date.
Looks like a good add-on, but not what I'm looking for...still I'm giving 4 stars as it does as advertised.
I will install again once above is feature is implemented.
Nailed exactly what I need Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Until I set up an "All Inboxes" folder, I never cared much about account order. My most important was the first I had, so I just lived with it.
This extension does exactly what it needs to do. It is a bit strange that you have to restart to have certain things take effect, but it works great. Thanks for a great extension.
Works for me Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
Can't understand why the makers of Thunderbird which is a good e-mail package don't allow you to move folders by drag and drop. Is anybody at Firefox listening.
Yes you can use the add on "Manually move Folders but what a total pain, Mozilla--wake up!
Can not install Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
This is a feature I want it very much. Unfortunately it failed to install "because it has not been verified." How do I get around the check?
Works well except for one key missing feature Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
I recently moved my email accounts, so I added some new servers, and am about to delete the old ones. I used this plugin to re-sort the accounts rather than doing it the about:config way, and it worked great, except for one thing...
I had moved my "Feeds" (RSS) folder to the end, after "Local Folders," but this plugin moved "Local Folders" back to the end, and in its UI, "Local Folders" is locked there. I want my feeds separate from my email, at the bottom of the list, but this extension makes that impossible, because of what seems to be an arbitrary UI choice.
Once I finish my server move, I'll have to move my accounts around manually and avoid using this plugin, so it doesn't break my sorting again.
Works 100% for me! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
I am not sure why others are complaining as, so far I am concerned, this does EXACTLY what it says it will do!
There is an entry in the Tools menu and as for it being "not worth the work", I suggest you go away and do better - then you might have the right to complain!!
Every developer works towards what he or she feels is the right solution and that may not tally exactly with what you want - that does not mean it is not worth it.
I am not a devloper but I am very grateful there are those that are and I think we should recognise that fact.
works well, but needs some polish Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
The "polish" would be maintaining focus/highlight on the selected account. As it is now, when the user moves the account beyond the listbox border and then moves it back into the box, highlighting is lost, making it sometimes difficult to follow movement. Also, when highlight is lost and the user reselects the same account, it doesn't highlight it, but merely borders it with a solid focus outline -- the border would be enough to help follow movement, but unfortunately, this focus outline is lost when the account is moved again.
Maintaining focus/highlight at all times on the selected account would be proper aesthetics.
Also, multiple selection capability for moving groups/blocks would be most welcome.
Lastly, a feature request: smtp list sorting. For those of us with a lot of accounts, it would be great to be able to sort the smtp's to match the account order . Over the years of adding accounts, removing and re-adding, my smtp list is effectively randomized.
Great With a Minor Niggle Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
I just installed this to sort my numerous email accounts into an order of my preference (and not Thunderbird's). It does what it says on the tin, however, to the minor niggle:
The app does not create an entry in the Tools menu (TB v45.5) as advertised in the first line of the plugin's description. You can still get to it using its options from the Extensions menu though.
Five stars if the plugin allowed drag'n'drop re-ordering, either in the combined inbox, or in the account settings.
Also, I can't confirm the problem reported earlier. I can send and receive emails just fine.
Not Quite there for me Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen
This add-on would be great except for 2 annoyances - 1 minor and 1 major.
The minor - when I go into Manually Sort Folders Options, Sort Folders Tab; the selected account is always the last account in my list. It should default to the main (or first) account as this is usually the primary account. At least it is for me.
But the Major annoyance, and the reason I have removed it: I want to tweak the existing folder list, so when I change the Sort Option from "Use Thunderbird's Default" to "Use a manually defined sort" I do NOT want the folders to be completely resorted alphabetically. I want to start organizing from Thunderbird's default. As it is now I have to go through ALOT of work to rearrange the folders back to Thunderbirds default and then move the few folders I want to arrange differently. It's not worth the work.
Essential for multiple accounts Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Works like a charm (using it in FossaMail). Customize your accounts and folders order at will - never had issues with it.
Works great! But stops email fom arriving or sending Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
I like the app, but like another reviewer, it interrupts mail. I disabled it and my mail came back and I can send again. I'm on a mac, el capitan, using Thunderbird 45.2.0
Works good, needs provision for Microsoft Exchange account Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
I added a Microsoft Exchange email account to Thunderbird and it will only sort the account to the bottom of the list or the top (if set as the default). I don't want this account in either position. Otherwise works as it is supposed to.
not working Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen
I used this before and it worked fine. It doesn't work for me now, at all. I even tried deleting and re-downloading. No good!
Works in IceDove (Debian8) & Thuderbird (Ubuntu & win) Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Please also enable rearanging position of the Local Account folder position Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
It works fin with the other email accounts, but does not seem to have an option to move the position of the Local folders. Which has migrated to the bottom of my list , ( was at the top before using this) Want to move it to the top its where all my mail is filtered into . Please add, great addon otherwise
Perfect for manually sorting accounts Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Because each new email account is (by default) added to the bottom of the account list, my main interest was to move my accounts up and down in the list. I've done this many times before by editing the underlying XML file which is a tedious process - first locating the profile, then carefully manipulating a large XML file ensuring that nothing gets misplaced....
This plugin works perfectly. Install and select "Tools/Manually sort folders". The first tab in the subsequent dialog allows one to move the accounts around. Exactly what I wanted!
Works very well except... Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
It won't put my RSS folder in the proper place I specify. It shows it correctly in the add-on settings but in the Thunderbird side panel RSS folders are always at the bottom and can't be moved.
If this could be fixed I'd definitely give it 5 stars.
It works, but with unwanted side effects Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
I installed it, it worked perfectly to what it was installed for, that is, to sort the folders and accounts in Thunderbird.
The problem is that since then the accounts do not download any messages anymore. All of them. Even those which were not moved. Thunderbird informs (in Portuguese) that it wasn't possible to connect to the IMAP server because of exceeding the maximum number of connections to the server.
Maybe although moving the accounts positions, it does not move the necessary references. Anyway, as I am not a programmer at all, this oppinion might just be BS.
But now I am left with a big problem.
Does anyone know this issue, and is there a solution?
*Day after: I removed it and tried it again. Didn't work. I restarted the computer. Ditto. I reinstalled Manually Sort Folders. Also didn't work. Then I was tired and switched it off to try to find a solution today. The idea was to sort the folders to the previous position and give it up. But it wasn't necessary! Today it started working! (???) Now it deserves the 5 stars, as actually it works very well.
Works! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Initially, I had the same experience as MCShults, as the "Manually Sort Folders" entry does not appear on my Thunderbird's "Tools" menu after installation and restart. I was finally able to access it by going beyond the initial menu, to Add-ons>Extensions, where I was able to select "Options" and sort my folders. Works well. Thank you!
Nothing, nada, zilch... Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen
Installed it. Nothing happened. No clue as to how to make anything happen. Can't drag and drop folders. Can't find any other way to reorder folders. No clues in documentation as to a hotkey or where to find a menu. Right clicked everywhere, looked in options. Nothing, nada, zilch.
The addon listing features, in bold, as the first sentence in the description "This extension adds a "Manually Sort Folders" entry in the "Tools" menu of Thunderbird.".
Furthermore, if you use the standard procedure (Tools > Add-ons), you'll find that the addon's preferences button also opens the right dialog.
