Not much to say: installed it. It's in my add-on's folder. It's enabled. But has never shown any signs of life. [I run latest Firefox, on Windows 7]
Love it when it works but it often grabs url and takes it into ones search engine, instead of to url's page itself. It's that behavior that made me remove it, sigh. [Windows 7/latest FF user]
I have a trackball - i guess that's why it did utterly nothing for me. Sigh. Earth to extension writers: amazingly, not everybody has a scrollwheel.
It half worked for me. I'm using FF 34.05 and the selected text does NOT auto-collapse. Instead i have to ctrl +C to get text into clipboard. But that's fine of course.
What's not so fine: doesn't work at all inside hotmail. And that was my main purpose. Sigh.
I'm running FF32 on Windows 7 and this just doesn't work at all for me.
Its icon doesn't show anywhere. Sigh.
But impossible execution. This is, frankly, a mess. Maybe, given all Mr. Donning has built-in, it couldn't be any simpler, but it is hard to use. I couldn't get results at all. Didn't see any DO button. There's a Save command, which i guess saved a small script somewhere, but that was all.
I couldn't even close the darned thing- had to uninstall it to remove the big and inconvenient to even open sidebar.
There are many users with different needs, but i think most folks just want a more powerful version of Mozilla's crude little color picker [Options; Content; Colors].
To developer- maybe you could tweak the code of C.T.S, to build it? Meanwhile, thanks for your hard work, but i'll pass....
This time round, running a new version of Firefox it worked.
As Rick noted, hotkey doesn't work [must go through Developers..., which is a pain].
Also, no saveable prefs, so big honking sidebar opens every time. Hideable, but still...
Other issues: in process of 3D-izing page, it turns page into an [non-html] object. So forget scrolling etc. Having no saveable prefers, you must reactivate Tilt every new page, sigh.
But it's free, so what the hey.
Thanks for it Mr. Robcee
This is probably Flash's fault [an infuriating technology] but... it doesn't work on most smaller sites, and since i never use the big sites listed as compatible, it's useless to me.
By the way: on FF30 it installed fine but is totally invisible- doesn't appear on address bar, nor in mouse menu, nor on main menu.
Inert! Installed fine; got View Menu entry fine, but does nada.
I use Stylish theme and have color prefs. set for white text on gray background. Maybe it's allergic to one or both?
Those of us who are annoyed by clutter need hotkeys. None here. I think developer shot himself in the foot here.
If however you're fine with toolbars and many buttons, this extension should probably get a 4 or 5.
Developer referred me from his Tile Tabs, to this, his "simpler" version. I'm sure it is simpler but it's still not simple enough to be able to just install, find a hotkey, and use.
I couldn't figure out how to simply tile my tabs. [I'm from a stupid planet. :) ]
At first you may think it didn't install at all, but then you see a small magneta H at far right of address bar.
From there i guess it depends on your skill level... i couldn't figure out how to use it [definitely lack of documentation, and maybe lack of aptitude on my part].
I wanted to be able to edit html pages for later viewing, not printing. For that purpose it's a dead loss. It can't do that, or GUI hides/complexifies the task, or needs extra explanation.
Certainly the text selection is an unergonomic confusing mess. I tried the simple basic task of selecting a paragraph and selecting it. Didn't get to square one. Whatever it does or doesn't do, the selection is *not* simple click > drag > click to select an area.
Whatever the truth of the matter, it is a nerdy little applet.
Later, re the developers reaction- ok, so Print Edit wasn't meant to be a fully functional HTML editor. Fair enough. But what is [seriously]? I could sure one. As to usability, "Print Edit is easy to use". Sorry, i must smile.
I think Microsh*t has conditioned us all to levels of complexity [and unreliability, tho not with this extension] that many of us are so nerdy we honestly think that we're not nerdy at all.
Anyway, this nerdy apple isn't the non-nerdy orange i'd hoped it was, so i upped my rating. :) Fair enough?
Sure are a lot of fancy features. Everything but a simple hotkey to show ones tabs. If one exists perhaps in the extensions intro page you could post it IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Caps are particularly needed in your case because you made your all your comments in one big block [ever hear of paragraphs?].
If you want to make your tabs jump through hoops, and have a lot of time to spare, go for it!
If you just wanted to display your tabs full-screen, well, lotsa luck.
LATER: The developer contacted me and tried to address my issues. Turns out that his extensions page displayed as one block of text due to my LavaFox Purple theme. So boo to LavaFox's coder, not DW-dev.
As to my general usability comments, he will be annoyed but i still think its interface could be easier, or better explained.
Probably 51% of the difficulty is down to unavoidable complexity. [It's damned hard to make the space shuttles control panel as simple as a vending machine.]
Installed it fine, figured how to operate [easy enough: ctrl + tab].
But when i tried it, nada. Does absolutely nothing. I have Firefox 30 and run 32bit Windows 7. Not having any other problems with FF.
Nice to have an improved speed dial, especially the make-home-page option!
There's room for improvement tho, like thumbnail of last page visited in any particular site, and here's my Big Idea:
fill all unused panes with most recently visited sites.
Presently, FF makes one choose between speed dial [even your improved version] and start with-last-page option.
Be sweet if you made *both* possible!
Another problem- your change # of panes [from default 3 x 3 to, say, 4 x 4] either doesn't work or needs *some* explanation.
L: I'm having tech problems with this review [submitting it]. 4, not 1, stars should appear. And i wanted to add that while you can change sites, the images of old sites persist [so i have a pane with the image of one site that connects to another!]. Probably just [another] conflict with another extension.
I installed it fine but have no idea how to use it. And, so far, notice no difference in the number of things i can download. !?
You may have a great extension but i think you need to add a little introductory orientation.
Does everybody know that this extension makes an excellent workaround to Mozilla's incompatible-with-itself .json/html bookmark system?
If you try to import a .json file that you foolishly thought would be accepted by your new Firefox install, you'll know how badly Mozilla shot itself, and us, in the foot. [If you try, your present bookmarks will be replaced by the .json'ed bookmarks!!! Doh!]
Yes, there is a workaround, involving creation of a new profile [come on rover, just jump through these ten more hoops!!
You can save yourself most of that work by using JSONView to open the .json, then manually transfer URL's to firefox [open URL, Ctrl+D to install as new bookmark].
Thanks Ben, for saving me from Mozilla.
Just doesn't work. Or, to be more precise: text appears in illegible outline form. The pdf menu bar display "This page may not display properly". May? In my experience, *always*.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (0.8.1334.1-signed) abgegeben. Dieser Benutzer hat eine ältere Bewertung zu diesem Add-on.
View as .html just doesn't work. At any setting i just get "This plugin has security vulnerabilities" explanation for nothing happening.
