Just tried it on multiple random profiles. It didn't work on any of them. Instead I was redirected back to my own profile page with a message telling me the search item could not be found. No time for wasting, so deleted.

DoNotTrackMe

Loved them both, now deleting both Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen

I absolutely Loved MaskMe, and I was also a big fan of DNT. Each did their own thing and didn't interfere with the other.

Using DNT, I've never given a hoot about medals and things like that so I always keep them turned off. I really liked that DNT just sat there doing its job and that I could disable tracking when I needed to for web pages that wouldn't work until I did, and I especially liked that I could disable Only those that required it. That's gone! Now it is all or nothing so when I run across a web page balking, I'm forced to allow all of the tracking cookies access. Uncool! What were they thinking?! How could they possibly believe users would want to give up control?

MaskMe rocked. It worked Great! Recently, though, not all of my emails have been forwarded, and its happened quite a few times in the last few weeks. One that wasn't forwarded was important and my not receiving it caused problems for me that I couldn't fix. By the time I discovered the other party had sent me an email that I'd not received, it was too late.

Also, and most unfortunately, I'm just sick about the fact that after two years of collecting MaskMe masked emails and passwords, I've lost them all, and I mean hundreds.

After happily using MaskMe for months, I bought in as a premium member, but then didn't re-up when my subscription expired because after paying for the service, I ended up caught up in the "transition" hell. Why Abine was selling MaskMe at the same time they were phasing it out is beyond me. For sure, it was not fair to the new subscribers ponying-up subscription fees.

I tried for months to transition from MaskMe to Blur, but it ended up going nowhere, turned into a convoluted mess, and after a few emails back and forth, I don't have the time to sit and pour over screen shots with customer service. I'm locked out of my MaskMe account now anyway and can't get back in so its futile.

Finally, I'm also fed up with how aggressive Abine has become over the last year in continual pop-ups and glaring, busy icons on every one of their screens telling me to sync and backup (both of which were free with MaskMe), and whatever else they want to sell us, only to be led to the page for buying a subscription. Its basically just ads slapped on every single DNT/Blur screen! I'm one of many who intentionally blocks ads from screens, because I hate them! Why would I want my privacy protection company shoving them in front of me, cluttering my view? Get those damnable icons off our screens! If we want to purchase, we will; but guess what? I find the incessant luring with icons and the pushing, pushing, pushing, Sleazy, and for that reason alone I won't subscribe again. I don't know who convinced Abine this new direction and strategies were a good idea, but whoever it was shouldn't have been listened to.

I could accept the loss of my MaskMe emails addresses and passwords and just start over with Blur, but I'm too upset about the way the company has handled their big changes and apparent new direction, so I won't. I don't feel like rewarding them for shafting their users. By the way, MaskMe is Still available, with all the new user info available, instead of directing newcomers to Blur! What's with that? Just more people to have to put through transition and potential snags and failures. Why?

So sad. I was such a big fan. No more. I've uninstalled both MaskMe and DNT/Blur from my machines.

Remove Cookie(s) for Site

Doesn't work anymore Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen

I used to love this little app, however, since a FF corruption or conflict between it and one of my other apps, and my reinstalling FF, it no longer works. I've tested it several times on several sites and after using it, the cookies are still there. I'm deleting it from my computer.

MaskMe: Online Privacy Protection

Retraction for too enthusiastic review, sadly Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen

I was thrilled with DoNoTrackMe (DNTM) and MaskMe (MM), but after purchasing the premium MaskMe account, all of a sudden I've had ongoing problems with both MaskMe and DNTM. They do not work well together, there is overlapping, and they require entirely different log-in membership accounts! That should have been made clear Before I purchased the premium MM account because Abine's help section explains that the "new" DNTM now does most of what MM does, and they won't integrate. If one wants to simplify and switch over to DNTM, all of MM's masked emails and passwords are lost forever and one must start over from scratch! After using MM for a period of time, that is A LOT of accounts to lose log-ins for!

Also, DNTM's toolbar icon keeps screwing up and becoming unresponsive. I end up having to delete it and reinstall it to get it working again. Between that and MM developing all kinds of glitches recently, including locking me out of my account entirely, which forced me to reinstall FF and lose all of FF my add-ons and various settings, products that used to be a delight are becoming a major, time-consuming pain. Furthermore, MM isn't recording all of the passwords it is creating for me and when that happens, I have no idea what they are! Whether it is Abine's internal issues or problems working with FF updates, either way, Abine should either be on top of it or let us know upfront that there are bugs and/or incompatibilities. At the moment, I've dropped my stars from four to three but if this continues, I'll be dropping the star rating further.

I read the Olivia from Abine response to another reviewer having the exact same problems as me and she wrote that Abine is very aware of the problems and confusion for their users as they go through changes. I just want to say that as a premium subscriber, I resent the company knowing it is going through these transitions but charging me for a year of MM only to shortly after suddenly label it "beta," move MM services to DNTM, and then let me and other subscriber's suffer the chaos and disruption! It's a really lousy way to treat customers. It isn't even ethical to keep selling a product they are phasing out as the customer is making the purchase. Now that I know it is Abine causing the disruption and knowingly providing a faulty product because they "decided" to switch MM services to DNTM and leave their MM customers in a lurch, my star rating is down to two stars!

MaskMe: Online Privacy Protection

Love it! Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

I love MaskMe! I use it for emails, passwords, and to mask my real phone number online. Once in awhile I have a problem from some glitch but I always receive a courteous response from MaskMe. Most of the time, though, it works flawlessly for me. I really like the way I can click on the MaskMe icon to open my account to see all my emails, passwords, and phone record without it opening on the page I'm working on. It opening in a new tab automatically is really helpful.

gTranslate

It won't work for me Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen

Every single time I try to use this add-on, all I receive is a page telling me that it can't translate because some part of the process was from an SSL unprotected site and the translation site is protected. I don't understand the problem. I don't want to need to understand the problem. I just want it to work like my old Google translation used to work. I've pretty much given up on any non-English websites, sadly, for this reason. Google's became problematic and this one is, and I don't have the time to spend doing geek problem-solving. I want the geeks to do it in advance. That's what makes cyber-geeks valuable to the rest of us.
