Right click/scan site not working Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen
I've come to find that right clicking on a link and scanning it no longer works. For awhile there I found myself having to refresh the page about 1 min. later to get the results, as it wouldn't show them initially. But now when I try to do it it simply takes me to the Virus Total website/main page, where you can upload files to be scanned. And doesn't scan the link whatsoever.
And since this was the only reason I had for this addon in the first place I've now uninstalled it.
I don't see anyone else mentioning it though, so I wonder if it's just something with my particular setup. So I'd like to hear others check to see if it works for them too and report their findings. Or... if it is indeed a widespread problem please fix it, and I'll install it again, because I really liked that feature. And I'll change my rating to 5 and apologize.
Edited: Found out the problem... not on your end Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Not what it used to be. When I first installed this several months ago almost every video I came across on Youtube worked with it in HTML5. It was rare that one didn't. Now about 30% of the videos won't play, and the figure gets lower with each passing day (literally)... as I find some that worked just the day before no longer working the next day.
It must be time for an update or something. Either that and/or Youtube is changing things to make this addon no longer function. 5 months ago I would have given this 5 stars.
I use NoScript as well and have to click (the icon) to play in the upper left corner of the video box. But I had it the same way back when your addon worked just fine too. But just wanted to mention it just the same in case there's a connection.
Edit: I want to keep the original post for a point of reference. I ironically left myself a clue at the end. It has to do with NoScript. I now have to allow a script I never had to before for most videos to play. In the "Blocked Objects" drop down box, for "googlevideo". I have to allow that now and can no longer click to play each video. Youtube must have changed something to make it this way.
Your addon is perfect... I retract my previous comments. Please accept my apology and my thanks for your wonderful addon.
The newest addition to my must have addons Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
It's a small but distinguished list. What this addon does should be standard fare in Firefox itself, but until/if it is, this is a fantastic addon. It's much more convenient, and less resource intensive than opening a new private window.
Now I always close the tab and open a new one when going from one thing/site to something else. I'm a Sandboxie user too and now find myself having to close my browser/sandbox less often, and instead just close out my tab and open a new one.
Great idea here...
Nice addon, only 1 flaw Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
People saying they have to reboot Firefox altogether are incorrect. But for the changes to stick you do indeed have to apply them twice, so I can understand why this misconception got started. I'm guessing most people are referring to having to change the cipher restriction to 128 and stronger, and uncheck the TLS 1.1 & 1.2 only box for many pages to load (doing this will make basically every site work btw). After making those changes and hitting "Apply Changes Now", then OK, and then refreshing the page... nothing changes. You have to go into those settings again, click Apply Changes Now again, then OK again, and then refresh the page yet again for the changes to stick. Then you're good to go. You do not have to restart Firefox. Fix this and the extension earns 5 stars in my book.
And personally I find the amount of sites that won't work with the settings maxed out over-exaggerated. I only have to do this with a few sites here and there. And if you max out the settings you should expect this. Blame the site, and not this addon for having lax encryption standards.
I like that the grading has high standards. It will encourage sites to enforce such standards as well. I wouldn't doubt some of the nasty reviews are by site admins feeling slighted by this. But it's for a greater good and Calomel shouldn't back off of this position.I've yet to see a site receive a perfect score under this new system. And it's always the "MAC" section lacking, grabbing an 8/20 at best, never have I seen better. But we shouldn't solve this problem by lowering our standards, but by improving our results.
The best addon ever... period Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
If I could only pick 1 addon, this would be it, edging out NoScript. But it's only as good as the subscription lists you use. I recommend, at minimum: "EasyList", "EasyPrivacy", and "Malware Domains". The rest is different strokes for different folks. I don't do social networking. No Twitter or Facebook, and get tired of seeing buttons asking me to link everything I ever do on the net to those accounts. I only use Youtube, and even then sparingly, and only watch not make vids. So I use a sub list called "Antisocial" as well that cuts out a lot of those syncs that irritate me. Those 4 only. To large a blacklist can slow you down, so don't go overboard.
And uncheck all the slow filters too... the ones with snail symbols to the right of them. And IMO everyone should be made aware of the check box in the bottom left hand corner to allow "some" unobtrusive advertising. It's up to you whether to utilize it or not, but people should be aware that it's there anyhow, and allow them to make an informed decision. As opposed to trying to keep them oblivious to it. I personally uncheck it.

A bit cumbersome though. I personally remove the stuff from my context menu up top, and use only it's ability to right click on links to scan them for malware before opening the page. It's very handy in this capacity for links you're not too sure about, along with WOT. There's also value in being able to scan downloads before you actually download them, as you can see via an option in the download box "Scan with Virus Total". And then only after verifying it safe, download it, or cancel if not. But as a Sandboxie user that uses VT Hash Check before unsandboxing new files introduced to my box that has no value to me. But to most it would. So this thing has several purposes, and is a great addon. But to me personally I only really use the right click on links feature to verify them safe before going there. For those times your "buddies" post links in chat rooms, forums or whatnot you're not certain are safe... hit it up with this first, along with WOT.
One of my must haves... yet flawed Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
Great addon, but with 1 flaw. I wish you could set it up to block bad sites without having to deal with a popup window for EVERY single site you visit... even though you have popups disabled.
Also, the page takes the liberty of loading in the background as you get the popup asking whether to allow or leave the site anyway. That shouldn't be the case. It should be blocked until you make your decision one way or the other. It's a good thing I have NoScript and ABP in place too.
Fix these things and it gets 5 Stars.
Best cookie manager - IMHO Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
This is my favorite cookie managing addon. I've been using it since it's previous incarnation, the original, "CookieSafe", and CS Lite.
My 1 and only gripe is, as someone else pointed out, the pointless drop down arrow. It serves no purpose, so I wish they could just axe it. No big deal really, but I'm a bit OCD, so I'd rather it just wasn't there. This gets 5 Stars otherwise.
So get on that... ; )

Great addon. One of my "must haves" along with ABP, NoScript, and CS Lite Mod. Increases page load times by blocking elements, pictures & unwanted clutter. Not to mention cross site tracking.
One of the best security addons there is. Great work devs... keep at it.
A Question to the dev (or anyone that knows FOR CERTAIN) Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
Is there any difference between this addon and simply ticking the box that says: "Tell sites that I do not want to be tracked" in the Firefox options? And if so, what?...I try to limit my addons as much as possible, if there's an integrated solution already, to save resources (i.e. Memory). Thanks in advance. If I hear the answer I'm hoping for I'll change my rating for the better.
Edit: In light of the fact that I haven't received a response (it's now 5/31/13... I'm assuming that my original assumption was correct. This addon isn't needed with the internal setting in Firefox's options I mentioned doing the same thing.
"Used" to work great w/VT Hash Check Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen
When used in conjunction with a tool called VT Hash Check this addon was so useful. It would scan a new download automatically with 40+ diff. engines. I even tossed my real-time AV, it no longer being of any use. But ever since the FF 20 update it no longer works. And I shouldn't HAVE to change disable Private Browsing mode to get it to work. That is a security concession I'm not willing to make. I never needed to to get it to work before. So I just removed this addon instead and now use VTHC manually before removing the new files from Sandboxie. Please fix this thing so it can be used without making concessions which lessen your security in the process. It used to be my favorite addon. Now it's of no use to me.

Thanks so much for continuing support on this great add-on! I tried to use others and none of them felt right. This is NoScript for cookies to me. Works great on FF 3.6.22, and I hope it continues to. I'm old school.
Major props to you wantora!
