Removed Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternen
EDIT after developer's reply -
Sorry for that, then, James. I hadn't removed that post, so it is Mozilla. Maybe because I was stating a link where you explained that you were still working on this add-on even though Firefox was no longer your default browser ? No idea, but I recall users complaining on other pages to the developer for having removed their post, so I thought this was of the initiative of the developer, not of Mozilla. OK
Well, whoever at Mozilla removed a post where I was clearly most correct in explaining via quoting and linking to quotes' pages why this add-on was long to be updated must certainly have read too quickly.
I've taken the time in a previous post to comment on what the developer himself argues on other pages to explain the long, very long, everlasting delay for updating this add-on.
The developer has removed that post.My conclusion is that the state of mind behind this extremely problematic add-on is not what I thought it was.
Consequently, in the face of a developer which seems to emerge from Mars once in a while to state that he shall continue when he finds the time, I see no alternative to keep on loosing mine.I'm afraid this add-on has turned out to be a joke.
Thank you, Merci chao :) Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Brilliant add-on, allows the Menu to be truly personal, keep/remove what you wish.
Now a personal as well word to the developer :
Dear Merci chao, do you have any plans to bring an equivalent add-on to Thunderbird? Because, frankly, it would be highly welcomed! -- Thanks.
I think many users don't understand the concept Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Before installing 'Self-Destructing Cookies' one should do the following in order to have the add-on not remove cookies meant to be kept :
Translating from French layout ...
- Firefox Options / "Private life" / History / "Rules of preservation" : select "Use personalized settings for History"
- Under, "Accept cookies" checked, and on the right, choose "Exceptions", and in the "Exceptions" list popped up, choose the cookies/domains you wish to keep and grant them either "Allow" or "Session". "Allow" and "Session" status will prevent 'Self-Destructing Cookies' from deleting them. "Allowed" will remain after Firefox is closed, "Session" will be removed with Firefox exit.
New white-list button in v. 0.3.4 (sandbox) Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
The new white-list button in 'Self-Destructing Cookies' 0.3.4 works fine, but the alternative it offers is Allow (exception) or exception not set, but not exception as Session.
At this time I use, with 'Self-Destructing Cookies' 0.3.3, another add-on called 'Permit Cookies 2' ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/permit-cookies-2/ ) which is also an interesting white-list access.
Webutation 2.0.4 is trully upgraded Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen
The add-on works very well, nothing to do with past versions.
Sites' ratings has no impact on site's access/page rendering.
Webutation.net is accessed via SSL, unavailable otherwise.
Webutation.net is not called on browser start (if start page not on the Web of course), and that's good.
Webutation.net sets a cookie when visited (not otherwise), absolutely not required if no login. Login allows participation to users' comments, and login is only via Facebook, which prevents users who have not a Facebook account from participating. Facebook is not the Web, be it reminded. Cookies were meant to keep user's data, not to set a flag. They all do it nowadays, those who don't are an exception.
I'm testing this add-on, perhaps for several days, my opinion is that of what it is as I write.
Fantastic! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Opens the link in .eml format, simply smart.
Just the same as if I had exported an e-mail (eml) and had then created a link to open it. This add-on avoids having to export, cleaner quicker. Great for bills, love letters, things that matter :)
Needless if less than 2 identities Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Now ain't that funny?!
Really helpful, and aesthetic. How many times had I not sent an e-mail with the wrong identity? More than once I can tell you. This 'Identity Chooser' besides its name which has the advantage of sticking to the purpose, is simply welcomed, appreciated. Should I remove it that I'd feel odd.
There is a Thunderbird setting for this Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
A per-account setting enables sent email to be immediately enclosed in whatever folder instead of default "Sent"
=> Account settings / Copies & Folders / "When a message is sent, aromatically put a copy in ..." (I'm translating from French layout). This is what I do for each of my accounts in order to have received and sent email all in their Account's Archive folder.
The statement is a bit ambiguous, at least in French, when stated "Put a copy of sent email". At first I thought it would be a copy of the email already in the Sent folder. In fact it means a (the) copy of the sent email itself. Hum... is that English correct ?!
GREAT IDEA ! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
SOMETIMES IT MAY BE THOUGH A PLEASURE TO HAVE A STYLE CAPITALIZE AN IDEA, LIKE hate OR LOVE !..Sorry for the joke. In fact this add-on is met at a time friends and I were debating over fonts, styles and how someone uses them to express a feeling.
Nice idea, well carried out.
EDIT after developer's reply : Now that's a nice trip for a smile. That's when we say "Et voila" ! -- :), I love it!
And the beat goes on ... Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
And the project goes on. Nice work. A true pleasure to recover fine art :)
Thanks for carrying out this add-on fix. A star is re-born!
Perhaps the cherry on the cake would be :
1- Option to set jpg quality ;
2- Option to have default local save folder (1-click save) ;
3- Option to have save name only by the date-time.
Nice cake. Cherry is accessory!

Smart, handy even useful, seems obvious once you use it. Code like this makes life easier. Nice.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (1.1.1-signed) abgegeben.
Perfect! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
HackTheWeb does it all.Complete, easy, fast.
- Complete because it has more features than simply removing. What you wish not to remove, or what remains after removal of other items, can have its display adapted in size and color ;
- Easy : frankly, I'm lazy but I love efficiency! You cannot find easier and more efficient, not even one without the other ;
- Fast, I mean FAST : because it creates css scripts that are integrated and then managed by Stylish add-on, edited pages are taken care of before display, not after, which enables a slick, smooth, fast rendering (it's not like you see the removed item before it gets removed, see what I mean?!)

First, congratulations for your work. I think we should not forget the work and enthusiasm there is behind an add-on.
Congratulations, but less jubilations : I've always had third party cookies disabled, for years & years, IE as well as Fx, and never had a single issue (perhaps one in fact). There is no reason to accept third party cookies and, should the obligation occur, I truly advise to abandon a site requiring it.
Adequate Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
Works fine and, IMO, the best "add-on mate" for the 'Self-Destructing Cookies' add-on, because it allows cookie exception creation/modification right from the toolbar, as a button. Moreover, the color of the icon (a nice "C" so logical) reflects immediately the cookie status for the site.
Up to now I would use Firefox's 'Info Page' accessed via dedicated add-on button ('Page Info Button'), but Firefox's Info Pages manages sites' cookie status without stripping the "www", therefore often missing the site's cookie when labeled on the domain.
What does RMB stand for ? Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
I see in this new version's features a RMB. Please explain what this stands for. Thanks
For those for whome cookies' management is confusing ... Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
1- Open Firefox Options / Privacy : check "Accept cookies", uncheck or check "Third-party cookies" (better unchecked) : this will be the default setting for all cookies.
Accept cookies : if for session only, will be deleted with session unless considered as "Exception", see below
I set "for session only", this way non-exception cookies are removed on Firefox exit, otherwise they are removed by this add-on on Firefox restart if you have quit Firefox while a site was open.
2- You are on a website, you have set (above) cookies to be allowed, ok. Now you have 2 options :
2.1- Either you do nothing : when you close the site, its cookies are removed ;
2.2- You want to keep the site's cookie(s) : easy : open Firefox's 'Page Info' window, either from "Tools" menu, either from a dedicated button (there is a 'Page Info Button' add-on that does it with a click). On the 'Page Info' window, choose 'Permissions' tab -> Cookies :
Uncheck 'Default Permission' : your site is now an 'Exception' -> Now, set it as an exception either for :
Session only, Authorize (stays), block (never created - if already exists, removed with add-on)
And that's it! - This is the best procedure !

I have made the choice at this time to not use EFF's 'HTTPS Everywhere' but, with or without the latter, 'SSL Button' is most and pertinent and valuable. I most appreciate it for bookmarked sites when I discover with this add-on that they have a SSL connection available.
Nice achievement, positioned just left of the Urlbar, immediate notification. More than handy.
Why are there so many dictionaries on the market ? Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen
Because not all definitions are alike, and that choosing one dictionary rather than another is like choosing one Bible edition rather than another.
Therefore, what dictionary does this add-on refer to ? This is the first question I had in mind when discovering this add-on. I am surprised the information is not provided.

No idea what some kids are crying about : I've been using Adblock Plus for years and never had the slightest blocking problem. Depends of the filters, choose them right because if you get them cheap anywhere else than from the official list, you may get into problems and start weeping like babies.Fed up with hysteria -- here and elsewhere -- which leads poor brains to score with their ass.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (126.96.36.199-signed) abgegeben. The best concept for cookie management Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen
1- The concept : the best IMO. By reversing logic from "block all & allow selected" to "allow all and remove if not exception" I switched two previous add-ons ('CS Lite Mode' and 'selectivecookiedelete') for this 'Self-Destructing Cookies'. With advantages over previous cookie management process (no more sites requiring cookie -- even when there is no valid reason : they get the cookie the time they are active, only!)
2- It works, I mean after thinking right, it counts right (remember school?!).
Compact - Smart - Nice.
