I had high hopes for this add-on, thinking it might be a suitable replacement for FlashGot. However, I would have been a lot more impressed if it actually worked. But it doesn't. It doesn't seem to matter which files I select, but when I click on the download button, nothing happens. Not a single file shows up on my computer. So I have to agree with Matteo.
Since there are some people who seem to be able to get the add-on to work for them, I have to admit there's a possibility some sort of add-on conflict may exist. Unfortunately, it may not be possible to find out what's causing the conflict.
Overall, I LOVE this theme, even though it does have some problems, including (but not limited to) hiding some icons (e.g., anonymoX). It also doesn't work well with Vertical Toolbar. The worst issue I've found to date, however, is that in the latest version (2.3.3) it messes up the searchbar in version 34.0.5 of Firefox so that it's completely unusable. As a result, I am using the previous version. I fully admit that these issues could be at least partly due to conflicts with other add-ons (as I was told by the author), but it's so much nicer when themes work and play nicely with others. Nevertheless, if these issues were resolved, LavaFox would easily be worth 5 stars.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (2.3.3) abgegeben. In the past, this has been an extremely helpful add-on. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with version 34 of Firefox. The new Firefox has its own way of performing the same function, but Mozilla's solution doesn't work nearly as easily. Any chance that Second Search will be updated?Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (0.7.2014050501) abgegeben.
I'm not quite as enthusiastic about this add-on as the other reviewers, but it is pretty good simply based on the fact that it works (a lot of other weather add-ons are currently down for the count). A few minor changes would elevate its ranking, in my opinion though:
(1) It would be nice if the temperature which shows up next to the toolbar icon displayed in fahrenheit rather than celsius, since that's what I selected in the options.
(2) Provide better popup information when the mouse is over the icon, such as current conditions rather than just the name of the add-on.
(3) Find a way to get it to use less memory. It uses almost 600 KB of memory, which when compared to a much more complex weather add-on like Forecast Fox (which uses less than 100 KB) seems a bit excessive.
(4) When it uses that much memory, it seems logical that it could stay updated rather than the annoying lag experienced when waiting for the display after clicking on the icon.
(5) It has kind of a counter-intuitive and awkward way of changing options. It would be much handier to get to the options the same way that probably 90 percent of other add-on do it.
I love this theme! So many little details that give it a lot of character. My only issues with it are these (and the only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars):
-- I have my Firefox set up so that the Navigation Bar is on top of the display. That works okay as long as Firefox is maximized. If it's not maximized, this theme makes most of the Navigation Bar disappear off the top of the screen.
-- I don't like what it does with the toolbar icons (i.e., turning them into a 3D appearance). It would be nice if there were an option to leave those icons alone. It also messes up the separator lines in the toolbars.
Other than these two issues, I think it really is amazing.
Simple, easy-to-use RSS reader with a small memory footprint. Some people have complained about how it displays feeds (i.e., in the sidebar rather than in a dropdown menu), but since there are plenty of other add-ons that offer a dropdown menu, different strokes for different folks. Personally, I like the sidebar method.
There are a few other limitations, however, that prevent me from giving a 5-star rating:
1) It presents a stupid error message every time it can't access a feed. I have a couple of feeds that are only available once a week or so, and since I have the feeds update every half hour, I have to see those annoying messages dozens of times a day. Would love to have an option to turn the messages off.
2) It locks up after closing the sidebar, preventing any actions and requiring a restart to return to functionality.
3) It would be nice if it had an unread counter on the toolbar icon, so that if the sidebar is closed, you know how many items are waiting. While it's nice that there's a popup message indicating when new items arrive, if you're not watching constantly, you don't really know about all the new items.
4) Speaking of the popup messages, the descriptions in these messages don't always match with the new items that are added - it seems like they're sometimes out of sync.
If even some of the above items were addressed (especially items #1 and #2), Feed Sidebar would absolutely be worth 5 stars.
Good idea, but it doesn't seem to work quite right for me. When I click on the icon, all the tabs get hidden just like I expected, BUT the OneTab tab which appears is completely blank. If, however, I restart Firefox, the correct tab with all the links to the hidden tabs will appear. So, I guess it works in a way, but I wasn't expecting to have to restart Firefox just to be able to see the list of hidden tabs. It's entirely possible that other add-ons I have installed are causing this to happen, but I have no idea which one(s) that might be. I'm disappointed.
Based upon the developer's response, I started to do some experimenting to see if I could isolate the reason why OneTab sometimes showed a blank page. The "web site fonts" issue wasn't relevant. And even though I'm not totally convinced I've solved the mystery completely, I've found that disabling the "Disconnect" add-on makes it work a lot more reliably. I've now changed my rating from 3 stars to 4, and I do believe OneTab offers significant improvements over other similar add-ons (e.g., HideTab, TabStash, Tab Grenade, StoreTab).
I agree with all the enthusiasm that everyone is expressing for Forecastfox, and also share their disappointment with the new inability to use it brought about with FF 29. That IS part and parcel of the fun, little accelerated FF update schedule after all -- discovering what gets broken and how to fix it again in each new release.
With that said, I'm puzzled with the comments from those who are stating that everything can be fixed by installing the Forecastfox update from the link provided by so many, along with re-establishing the add-on bar through one of a handful of new add-ons fixes. Yes, I followed those steps and was then able to customize and drag Forecastfox back down to the add-on bar. Problem is that is doesn't stay there -- within a few minutes or when I restart FF, it disappears again. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the improvement.
More concerning is the fact that the developer seems to be silent on the subject. I do hope he hasn't abandoned all of his faithful followers. Version 2.2.4 doesn't seem to be an improvement, so we need something else. Otherwise, we're all stuck. AniWeather also seems to be plagued with the same issue, so the only alternative right now seems to be Weather Now, which doesn't have anywhere near the capabilities.
Loved this add-on when I first found it, but now I've noticed a couple of issues:
#1) After installing FF 29.0.1, the icon to access Tab Grenade has disappeared completely. This is obviously a major issue, as the add-on is now unusable.
#2) There seems to be no way to get rid of old history for tabs saved. So, apparently, it just keeps storing old tab groups forever. Would be nice to limit the length of time they're saved. Minor issue, but would be handy.
Other than the above two items, Tab Grenade is quite useful.
Switched over to FF 29, and even though I'm not a fan of it, I'm sticking with it for now. So, it's great that an update of AiOS which will work with that version of FF has been made available. Only one problem I've noticed so far -- the new version of AiOS puts too much spacing between the icons, resulting in excessive space usage. It's a minor issue, but would be nice to have resolved.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (0.7.21) abgegeben.
Overall, a very useful add-on that's much easier to use than anything else out there. The only problem I've had with it (which explains the 4-star rating) is that when I start/restart Firefox, the icon sometimes disappears from the toolbar. To get it to reappear, I have to disable the add-on then re-enable it. Not a major issue, but it is a nuisance.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (0.1.8.3) abgegeben.
Probably the most useful newsfeed reader I've found so far, with one exception: it would be really helpful if there were a menu item to open all unread items in a feed (or even from all feeds), without the need to open them up one at a time.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (1.7.1) abgegeben.

I like most things about this add-on, with one exception. I can't find any way to hide news items that I've already read. So what this means to me is that if a newsfeed has 100 items, with only one that is still unread, I have to scroll through all 100 lines just to find the one I want to open. I even tried changing the sort order so that unread items will be on top, but that didn't work at all.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (184.108.40.206.2) abgegeben.
A pretty good add-on, but the latest version (1.4) messes up the navigation toolbar by removing the icons I put on there and putting on ones that I didn't want.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (1.4) abgegeben. Dieser Benutzer hat eine ältere Bewertung zu diesem Add-on.
Pretty good add-on, but the latest version (1.4) messes up the navigation toolbar by removing the icon I put on there and puts on a couple of different ones that I didn't want.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (1.4) abgegeben.
Forget about all the other add-ons that are designed to provide an easy way to go to the top or bottom of the page -- this one is better than any of them (and I've tried them all).
Very good add-on. MUCH better than any other note-taking add-on that I've tried. Two problems however:
(1) If you open it in the sidebar (for example), make some changes, save those changes, close the sidebar, then open it in a "float window", it will lose the changes you made. Apparently, all three ways to display the notes are loaded at the same time (when Firefox starts rather than when the notes are opened and displayed???), so changes made in one display mode do not apply to the other display modes.
(2) I tried the development version to see if problem #1 had been fixed, but I found a new problem instead - the captions on the note tabs do not display correctly.
Overall, a good add-on. One of the things I liked the most was that it included toolbar icons for all the major browsers it supported, which was good because I could put the ones I wanted on the sidebar. Unfortunately, in version 21.0, some of those icons disappeared (including Google Chrome). That's a puzzling change to make. As a result, I am staying on version 20.0 for the time being. If it hadn't been for this issue, I would have given the add-on 5 stars.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (21.0) abgegeben.
I used to use Screen Capture Elite, but that stopped working, so I searched and found this one. Excellent replacement!
Also, I contacted the developer a while back requesting a small modification (the ability to specify a default action by clicking on the icon) - he responded to me quickly and included my suggestion in the product. I really appreciate responsive add-on developers, because there are so few.
