Thunderbird Conversations

Nice idea, but ... Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

Though TB looks more organised with this addon, I end up with an empty Inbox. Don't know if it's because several accounts go into it already or because I'm using both POP and IMAP accounts. So I had to disable it, to read my mails again. :(

RequestPolicy

good, but needs a blacklist, too Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

First: It does what it should. There are some things, that NoScript doesn't cover. But, NoScript allows you to allow scripts for the base domain, but deny it for any other requested domain. RequestPolicy doesn't. If I genereally allow requests from a domain, I cannot exclude certain destination of that.

Another thing noScript could use, too, would be some way to sandbox all request of a certain link/page and then show the user all affected destinations. Certainly you would allow paypal for a shop, if you were on a shopping spree. Or for other payment services. I know, I could mimik a similar behavior by generally enabling "Temporarily Allow All Requests" - if I were able to limit it to the base domain of the target.

Last thing: an integration with NoScript would be nice, so that you could manage that stuff in one place.

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - OneLiner

Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

like one said: the search-bar functionality is gone like this. looks nice, but the workflow stumbles.
Why not integrate the url-bar into the search-field? Use a keyboard shortcut or "scroll search engines" to switch between the "search engine" url-bar and other, real search engines. Funny enough, if you add a history of search terms for every one of the search engines (yeah, give it some "forget" options), you could use the back and forth buttons not just for urls, but for search terms per engine, too. But that's just m 2 cents.

YesScript

purpose? Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen

I have logical problems concerning the purpose of this:

IF "Firefox is secure enough by default" than what would be the point in blocking scripts? Especially if, as it seems to me, there is no way to differentiate between scripts. (At least my intuition did not lead me to any UI element to do so.)
You just allow or deny execution of ANY scripts on that page. So as to the parania part: Users might get paranoid with a programm, that does neither tell them, what (domains from) scripts are trying to be loaded or have been blocked from that.

Despite these logical problems the addon seems to do it#s job just fine and block any script on a given page. So you gained hassle without hassle, because many sites have their own scripts and 3p-scripts loaded. I simply do not see any point in blocking all scripts point blank. THAT in fact, might as well be considered paranoid in a strange limited way ...

Context Search

should be standard Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Actually I don't understand why this is not includes in Firefox itself. Most people may not use a specific classic search engine all day, BUT with the ability to add search-functions of websites or bbs/forums it is really handy.
It would be nice though, if the search terms would be copied into clipboard - or the firefox site-search field.

Menu Editor

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Have to admit that I don't understand, why something like this isn't build into FF, as -like joemontibello said- many addons just spam the context-menu with entries and it's really annoying at some point. So: great work!

Hide Navigation Bar

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Really nice with FF4 - saves quite some space. But one thing there is:
It shows the nav-bar only when hovering below or on tabs but not if you hover right next to the last tab on the tabbar. That does nothing.

Extension Options Menu

select addons to display? Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

It would be much more usefull, if one could select which addons to display. Because if all are displayed, only half the way is done by means of usability. You only need a hand full of addon options on-the-fly - or you have to many addons.

FireGestures

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Nice addon. I used to do gestures with DragIT, but that seems broken @FF4b as you cannot see the gestures in the config dialog. So I tried this one and it's better in the way that you can make your own gestures, but it lacks a nice display like DragIT (use text-display like "Next Page" instead of showing the gesture itself) and there are no diagonal gestures here. Why is that? Would love to have these two things added, really!

Barlesque

Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen

Good idea, but would be more usefull if it:
- could be unhidden by moving the mouse to it's position
-> making it obsolete to have and use a manual collapser
- could be placed in the center

Boerse.bz

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Wunderbar! Nachdem das einfache Hinzufügen der Suche immer Konflikte mit der Board-Software brachte, endlich eine richtige Lösung. Danke :)

Tooltip Plus

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Just perfect: knowing the URI/URL was the only real reason to always show the statusbar. THX!

Autohide Tabbar

Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

It would be nice to have the option to set the fade-out time.
Oh, btw: What's the use of moving the tabbar to the bottom? You then have to move the mouse all the way up to the bar containing the address-/search-field and other buttons.

Add-on Collector

Not what had I expected Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternen

I thought this was going to help me with managing collections, but it corrupts AIOS' addon-panel (and the FF-Addons windows if you are not logged in. The only useful thing is to publish already installed addons to any of my collections. But that functionality is very limited as I have to select every single addon, click "send to" -> "collection xyz". It would have been much easier, to have a real manager window, where one is able to select the addons to be published out of the list of installed addons and then just click publish once.
This is -currently- of absolutely no use for me.

Add-on Collector

Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

Nice plu# addon so far. But I totally agree w/ madazilla (12.04.2010). Though I really would like to ask for an option to install a complete collection w/ one click. That would be really cool to even easier share the own collection of addons w/ friends (or in a company, if you like). If not, maybe it could be incorporated in addons.mozilla.org directly.

Thinking that way, it would be outmost awesome, if there was a way to even distribute some kind of own default config for the addons w/in each collection; preferably deselecteable for the "pure addon experience". There might even be two types of custom-configs per collection: one config for all included addons (allows for more slipstreaming the functionality) or another on a per addon basis.

Yea, I know that sound more like an "Addon-Manager", but ... well, if not for the collector, maybe someone grabs the idea and makes some nice sleaky thing out of it.
