Menu Filter

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Awesome add-on! The Menu Editor add-on lasted me a long time, despite not being updated since 2011, but finally failed on me when it couldn't deal with the navigation icons at the top of the new Firefox context menu.

The only thing I've found that doesn't work for me with Menu Filter is that some of the configurations I've made to the bookmarks and history menus don't carry over to the toolbar icon versions of those menus.

(I keep the actual menu and bookmark toolbars hidden, use the pop-down icons menu, and moved the few bookmark icons I use moved to the address bar.)

Aside from that one problem, the first needed improvement I believe Menu Filter needs is the ability of users to move items up and down on their parent menus.

Even if being able to move items between *different* menus is never implemented, fixing that one problem and making that first improvement would make Menu Filter a 5-star add-on for me. As it is, it's already a must have add-on!

SmartVideo For YouTube

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Best YouTube add-on at the moment. Love the options for videos on YouTube proper and YT videos on other websites. What would make this add-on even better (though technically outside the scope of the add-ons purpose) would be the addition of an option to auto-hide/show video comments on YouTube. Otherwise, thumbs-up!

Dictionary Tooltip

needs font-size resizing option Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Great add-on, once I figured out the right things to check and uncheck for my preferred configuration. Only complaint is that there is no option to increase the font-size within the pop-up. My screen is set to a higher resolution, and despite my "monitor" being 55", I still have to squint to see the text. Otherwise, this add-on would be get a perfect 5/5 from me.

Feed Sidebar

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

This is the best feed reader add-on for Firefox simply because I don't need to squint to read the feed list and Firefox retains control of the zoom settings in the article pane.

Other add-ons either fail in other areas - like Sage, which could have been the best - while others could have been decent if feed lists and/or articles weren't unreadable due to font-size.

The only thing that keeps Feed Sidebar from being close to perfect is not being able to sort feeds into folders or groups (see Sage.)

Being able to sort feeds by name, date or most recently updated is fine, but unless users could rename feeds (to use with the sort-by-name option), they have to skim through all their feeds if they want to read only those on a specific subject. (And the more feeds a user has, the worse this becomes.)

(I thought I could workaround this by moving my feeds into a single bookmarks folder and arranging them in a specific order, but no luck.)

I'd like to give this add-on 4 and 1/2 stars, but since I can't I'll give it 4. If the single problem it has is fixed it'll automatically get 5 stars from me!

FastPrevNext

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Simple, effective and unobtrusive! This add-on may not have as many options as other sequential image browsers, with regards to images with more complex naming conventions (or none at all); but it's very easy to use, and effective at what it does do. Also, compared to a lot of other add-ons (of all sorts), this one adds no real extra clutter to the context menu, status bar or other toolbars. I actually hadn't read the description close enough, and initially couldn't figure out exactly how FastPrevNext worked. What a wonderful revelation when I finally stumbled upon the "show-on-hover" arrows in the URL bar! Bravo! :-)

HideTab

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Awesome add-on! For me it's perfect, as all I needed was a way to hide a tab that is simply playing a radio feed, so it doesn't get in the way while I work with other tabs.

However, I do understand why other people would want audio from a tab to essentially go mute when quickly hidden.

I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement a Sound On/Sound Off option, but it would be the ideal way to go to please both users like myself and those who wish to mute any sound.

The only thing I have a problem with is just a minor nit-pick. Unlike other Firefox menu items whose shortcuts I've changed or removed, after I removed the shortcut for Hide Tab, the text in the menus still says "Hide Tab(CTRL+Q)", rather than just "Hide Tab".

Anyhoo...

Awesomely awesome add-on! Does everything I need it for. (Just Tweeting, at the moment, but nonetheless.)

Are You Watching This?! Sports

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Excellent add-on! But I wish I could customize the look of it. e.g. I'd like to rearrange the sections and hide "Search" and "Today"; and keep the score ticker fully expanded at all times. And instead of "locking" one game, I'd like to be able to limit the ticker to just a few specific games. Anyhoo...

Wow! This is by far the best theme I've ever used with Firefox. Bravo!

Excellent add-on! Now all I have to find is a working add-on that strips formatting from non-link text. Again, great add-on! :-)

Window and Tab Limiter

Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Great add-on! The basic idea of limiting the number of tabs that can be open should be a feature of Firefox itself, IMO. That said, like others have suggested, it would be great if, when a user tries to open one too many tabs, that tab simply wouldn't open. I wouldn't want to have a tab that I'm still using close, just because it's the oldest. From there, having both options when opening a new tab - closing the oldest tab or not opening the new tab - might be nice, though I'd only need the latter option (at least at the moment). The option of a short beep or a small pop-up when the tab limit is hit would also be a good thing. (Having both options cover different accessibility issues.)

Window and Tab Limiter

I agree with all the other suggestions ... Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

... but will add that I would like a preference setting in which I do not receive a warning. Seriously. When attempting to go over my limit, I simply would not be able to open another tab.

Many people - including myself - would get frustrated with such a feature at first, but I believe those who don't switch to a different preference would quickly get used to it.

A distinctive beep or flashing status bar icon would be a good idea though. Simply because of possible problems opening a tab when the user has yet to reach their maximum number of tabs.

e.g. - A user tries to open a link in a new tab. Nothing happens. He doesn't notice that he should be able to open one more tab, so he simply thinks he's reached his tab limit.

However, there actually was a problem with the link itself, or some bug with another add-on(s), or Firefox itself. Or maybe his mouse is close to death. So, yeah, a beep or flashing icon would be a very good idea.

Anyhoo...

This is definitely my favorite Firefox theme. The icons - their colors, shapes and size - are perfect. Just beautiful!

EZNav

Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Awesome!

Does only four little things, but all four are very useful, and EZNav does them very well.

And aside from the browser's add-on list, EZNav leaves no visible footprint.

Again, awesome!

Anyhoo...
