I am an attorney and so far so good on my Vista Ultimate x64 SP1... I MOST DEFINITELY need to play with this more and will report back. Again, so far it seems to live up to its potential, which is already quite impressive.

deskCut

Still one of only a few MUST HAVES Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

THANK YOU THANK YOU for finally getting it over to version 3 of the browser. Its working as good as ever on my 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate.

My first ever Add-on back when I first left IE for Firefox version 1.0. And while I can't say it is my MOST necessary add-on, I CAN say that deskCut is one of only three or four add-on's I simply cannot do without. So much so that I recently devoted several hours searching third party sites for a version compatible with FFv3, including the developer's page. Can't describe how glad its finally here. Living without deskCut for the past few months was painful: you don't appreciate how good you have it until its gone.

"save to htm" or "save to html"? How come notepad can't properly format files saved to .txt? and for that matter, why can't MS Word even recognize the text is English? And what is ANSI anyway? These questions were all avoided when I had deskCut. Deskcut allows me to continue is blissful ignorance of the difference between htm, html, mhtml, ANSI, ...ugh, it hurts to even talk about. Thankfully I can again stop looking for ways to "simply" save a shortcut to a page that I want to read later.

... and about the "simple" thing... I agree 100% with 'hitmewithit's post regarding just how helpful this add-on is. The fact that it is "simple" doesn't make it any less necessary. I'd even go so far as to add that the fact it appears too "simple" to some people is a testament to its brilliance. The creator of deskCut made simple something most end-users expect to be simple but isn't.

That in all this time Firefox's creators never implemented something that IE users have always taken for granted, indicates that this is not as simple as it appears. Yet developer Evan Eveland did it for us, and he did it years ago.

Without question, deskCut is just as relevant and useful today as it was when it first appeared as a pioneer add-on for Firefox 1. Its back. It still works. It still has a very small footprint. So get it. You wont' regret it.

Again, thanks!

Without question, deskCut is just as relevant and useful today is it was when it first appeared as a pioneer add-on for Firefox 1.

So thanks!
