WebVim is a browser extension that adds keyboard navigation to feed-style pages. This page describes what data it does and does not handle.

• It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data about you or your browsing.
• It does not track which posts you view, click, or navigate to.
• It does not use analytics, telemetry, or any third-party tracking or advertising service.
• It does not make network requests of its own. It only reads and modifies the page you're already on, and only on the sites it runs on (see below).

WebVim saves your preferences (keyboard bindings, whether arrow-key navigation is on, background dimming, scroll behavior) using the browser's built-in storage.sync API. This data:

• Stays within your own browser's sync mechanism (the same one the browser itself uses for bookmarks/settings) — WebVim has no server of its own and never sees this data.
• Contains only your settings — never browsing history, page content, or anything you've read or clicked.
• Is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

WebVim automatically runs on: Twitter/X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Hacker News, and Facebook. On any other site, it only runs if you explicitly click "Enable on this page" in the popup, and only for that page until you reload or navigate away.

• activeTab — lets the popup read/act on the tab you're currently viewing, only when you interact with the extension.
• storage — for the settings described above.
• scripting — required by the browser extension platform to run the "Enable on this page" fallback and the popup's post-count display.
