Really helpful! It might not be the strictest validation tool available, but it's enough to visually validate the basics (alt, title, label) in a few seconds.

Superb tool!

Would be even better, if the context menu entry had an icon.

reinstall on update problem Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I have to reinstall every time there's an update to firefox, is there some way to fix this?

This tool could potentially cause me a lot of grief especially by someone who thinks they know web accessibility.

I ran my page through the online version and had 1 error (which I can not for the life of me find). I ran that same page through the plug-in and it came back with 45 errors. It's counting ALERTS as full blown ERRORS.

I am actually in full support of this tool, I just wish there was some consistency between the two products by counting things as they are ALERTs versus full blown ERRORs.

A nice addon! Thank you very much for creating it!

The only thing I'm sorely missing is a toolbar button to toggle showing of WAVE Toolbar on and off.

I don't like to permanently sacrifice screen space, and I can't use the key sequence "ALT+V, T, W" to to toggle it, because the addon Web Developer Toolbar already begins with a "W" (but has a button to toggle it). So I have to use the mouse...

So I hope there are more spoiled and picky users out there, who will agree with me, to get this feature rollin' :-P

I have been doing accessibility testing for several years. I've used the AIS toolbar for IE and the Web Developer toolbar as my primary browser tools... and although there have been other toolbars along the way... those were the best. WELL...this quickly replaced those as my main browser evaluation tool. No automated review tool can be 100%... but this is the best yet.

Fantastic Tool Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

WAVE is really helpful in identifying accessibility errors as well as potential accessibility errors on any page. Very well done. Granted it does take a little bit of time to understand what it does and how best to use it. A hint is that you can always click on the "Icons Key" button in the toolbar to get more information about what all of those icons mean. I agree that sometimes the Reset Page button doesn't work properly; especially after styles have been disabled. That could be better, but overall an excellent tool!

Great AddOn that could use some refinement Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Highly functional accessibility checker. It would be more effective if:

a.) the error tags were explained by more than just rollover text,
b.) Errors, Features, and Alerts were actually separate from Structure/Order checking.
c.) one could search for specific problems instead of an overall check.

Overall, I find this very useful in working with my website!

Very Helpful Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

The WAVE Toolbar identified an accessibility error that I had on my web site that didn't show up through traditional validation methods.
You can imagine and appreciate the importance of that for me as the owner of a web site who's main purpose is to promote Internet accessibility through Firefox tools and resources.
It will surely be added to our list of recommended Firefox accessibility add-ons.

Nice new tool! Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

Very nice tool to assist developers and designers in creating accessible and usable web sites. I think the Errors, Features, and Alerts toolbar button represents the best quick check at functionality. I think the Structure/Order option could use some explanation text in the UI.
The text-only mode works as advertised.
For the Toggle Styles option it would be nice to have an indication what the two styles represent / how they change the application. Would it be possible to give the name of the style in the toolbar button when it is active?

the wave toolbar is an excellent addition to the available accessibility testing tools, the WAVE service has been around for years, helping people to assess the accessibility of their sites. Ihave encountered no problems when using the wave extension.

Seems like a good idea; has some issues Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

I found two gotchas in my brief trial.

1) Extensions that modify pages may cause the WAVE toolbar to report accessibility issues that have nothing to do with the page you're trying to assess. When I encountered this with Link Alert, the summary line indicated that there were errors in the page, but I couldn't find any error icons in the page, even when I disabled styles.
2) "Structure/Order," Text-only," and "Outline" page transformations apparently remove event handlers established in script under some circumstances. "Reset Page" does not restore the original functionality, and sometimes actually causes the problem.

I think working around the first issue is up to the user, unless the author of the offending extension is motivated and able to correct the problem. The second issue looks to me like it's squarely in the WAVE toolbar authors' court.

Very promising! I think it is time to get this into more hands so that it can evolve. Is there a feature/bug database?

This toolbar has a simple, clean interface. For anyone intimidated by accessibility checking, try this. It makes problems easy to see and understand. Just click on the toolbar and your page is transformed to show the errors right where they occur.

Nice work.

The best! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

WAVE is the best web accessibility tool there is! The red/yellow/green graphics make it easy to spot and identify errors, and identify problems that most tools pass over (like inapproprate alt text).

If you are interested in web accessibility, this is an essential extension!
