VsisProxy Privacy Policy

VsisProxy is a local-first proxy manager. We take privacy seriously and do NOT collect any personal data.

1) Data we collect: None. VsisProxy has no servers, no database, no analytics. We never receive any of your data.

2) Data stored on your device: To function, the extension stores your configuration locally using the browser storage API:
- Proxies you add (host, port, optional username/password, label)
- Profiles (name, color, linked proxy)
- Auto-switch rules (URL pattern, type, profile)
- Default profile, active mode, language preference
This data stays on your device. If you enable Firefox Sync, Firefox (not us) replicates it between your own devices, encrypted by Mozilla. We have no access. To delete everything: remove the extension (about:addons).

3) Network calls:
- Through your configured proxy: when a proxy is active, Firefox routes your traffic through it. The extension only tells the browser which proxy to use; it does not read, log, or transmit the sites you visit. If the proxy needs authentication, the stored username/password is sent only to that proxy server, never to us.
- Live Test (on-demand): when you click the Test button on a proxy, the extension makes a single request to https://api.ipify.org through that proxy to verify it works and show its outbound IP, then restores your settings. This runs ONLY when you click Test, never in the background.

4) No tracking: No telemetry, analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. No account, login, email, or registration required.
